They would take road trips around the country, camp out on the beaches and just be. They did that for six months, floating from place to place, just existing.
On that trip, they met the other women who would wind up joining them along the way. Thus, the Blue Lotus MC was born.
She now called five other women her sisters. Women who served their country either in the military or in law enforcement in some capacity.
They have all seen the horrors the world had to offer, either toward others, or toward themselves. Yet, through that, they came out stronger in the end by going after a common enemy.
Men who get off abusing women and children. Those they considered weaker than them.
Because of that, Blue Lotus MC used their skills to assist women and children to fake their deaths and escape their abusive relationships. Something she was actually proud of.
Chapter
Two
Maxwell “Beast” Blackwell put the weight down and glared at his best friend. The man was seriously getting on his last nerve.
He really didn’t want to get his hands bloody today by knocking the man’s teeth down his throat. When Jet started laughing, he just shook his head and got up from the bench he’d been sitting on and moved to another machine to work out on.
The man had been giving him shit for the last two weeks since he’d come back from leave seeing his older brother. Despite living in the same city as each other, their schedules tended to clash when it came to getting together.
His brother, Geramie “Tiny” Moser had left the Army ten years ago and joined the Crestview PD, just outside of Fayetteville. He was a demolitions expert for the SWAT team.
Max had followed in his big brother’s footsteps and joined the Army and went Rangers, Green Beret and then Delta Force. He loved what he did, even if it did prevent him from having a normal family life.
When he wasn’t on an op, or visiting his brother, he was in the gym doing his best to stay in shape with all the new, youngeroperators coming on. He only had four years left on his contract with the Army and then he could officially retire.
Most of the guys called him a monk or priest because he didn’t date or have one-night stands. His actual call sign was the beast since he was a literal beast in the field and didn’t take shit from anyone.
As the team leader of his Delta Force unit, he demanded everyone on his team give their all and to stay out of trouble. Especially when it came to their relationships.
If they couldn’t be faithful to their significant other, then they couldn’t be faithful to their team. That was his biggest pet peeve was someone who couldn’t be faithful to a woman he was in a committed relationship with.
He wished he could say that it had been his motto always. But it hadn’t been until he met the one who got away.
He’d gone out to the bar with his then best friend Bradley Roper, a former teammate and Ranger. Max had seen her first and nearly tripped over himself.
What he’d never expected was Bradley to home in on her and make a move. That had been the first crack in their long friendship.
At first Bradley was attentive and good to her, so Max sort of kept his distance. He couldn’t stomach seeing her kissing Bradley, knowing how he felt about her.
The second crack in their friendship started when Bradley had started complaining to others on their boy’s night out about her being a Ranger like he was. He felt strongly that women shouldn’t be allowed in the military unless they were nurses or in administrative positions.
After that night, Max found excuses not to join in on boy’s night out as much. Maybe, now that he was thinking back, that had probably been a mistake.
He’d used the excuse of him making it into the Green Berets to pull away from their friendship. He knew that Bradley wanted to make the same selection but had missed the deadline due to an injury from a previous op he’d been on.
That seemed to be when things started going downhill for not only his friendship with Bradley but the relationship that Bradley had been in with Desiree too.
He couldn’t help but think that if he’d stuck around, he would have found out about the bet that Bradley had with the others to get Desiree out of the military, or the cheating. He felt partially responsible for how things went down.
But he couldn’t help but be proud of how Desiree handled everything when she found out about Bradley cheating on her. She’d punched the s.o.b, decked the stripper and then focused on her career.
While Bradley had continued his relationship with the stripper and focused on get laid, Desiree had focused on getting mentally and physically better, going to the gym and doing whatever she needed to do to make sure she was successful in her career. When the time came for Green Beret trails, Desiree succeeded while Bradley failed to make it.
The Army even denied Bradley’s request to re-enlist when his contract was completed, so he was processed out of the military. He had to admit he threw a party when he’d gotten word about that.
He did his best to keep up with Desiree’s career since they were on different teams. When he heard she’d left the military after four years in the Green Berets, he was sad that he hadn’t gotten to see her and told her he was sorry about how things turned out with Bradley.
