It doesn’t take us long to pull in the driveway behind Roger’s truck.Kreed is already on the porch waiting for us as Cali parks and I wait for him to help me out.Reckless makes his way over to Cali’s door after pulling in behind us.I didn’t know he would be here today, but I’m not surprised since his family will be heading home.
“Are you sure you’re okay?”Kreed asks as soon as my door is open.
“I’m sure,” I respond as I open the back door and start grabbing the bags we just put together in the parking lot.
“What’s all this?”Reckless asks once he sees my full hands.
“Just a little something special for everyone here today,” I respond evasively as Kreed leads us up on the porch and inside the house.
Everyone is sitting in the living room when we get inside.Cali helps me hand out the bags to everyone and we step back as Reckless pulls her into his arms.
“What’s this?”Laura asks, looking between the bag and me as I look around the room.
“All of you mean a lot to me and have helped in one way or another since Kreed saved me that fateful day.To me, you’re family and I have some important news to share with you all.Cali helped me put this all together as I turn my focus on Kreed while Cali pulls out her phone and I move to stand in front of him.“Please open them all at the same time so the surprise isn’t ruined.”
The group looks at one another before opening the bags and pulling out the gifts I got them.Kreed has a onesie that says, ‘Daddy’s future riding buddy’.Laura has a small pair of booties and a blanket in a pale yellow.Roger has a onesie with a horse on the front of it.Sam and Playboy got a stuffed teddy bear.Tank got a onesie proclaiming him as the world’s best uncle.Each one of them also has a picture from the ultrasound.
“Are you serious, Pixie?We’re havin’ a baby?”Kreed asks me, putting everything back in his bag and setting it behind him before pulling me into his arms.
“I’m very serious,” I respond as he kisses me and lifts me off the floor.
“Congratulations,” Sam says, walking over and hugging us before Playboy and Tank pull Kreed away from me.
Excitement fills the living room as Kreed and I are surrounded by our loved ones.Roger remains close to my side in a protective stance as I look at everyone.They’re all talking and laughing as we continue to get hugs and are surrounded by love from those we chose as our family.The ones who will support us no matter what happens with this pregnancy.
Laura is the last one over to me with tears in her eyes.“You’re making me a grandma.I love you, Annistyn.You’re a special girl and the rest of your days will be filled with love and peace.Thank you for not giving up on Kreed.”
“I love him.Even when I left, it wasn’t because I didn’t love him.I just needed space to process everything.Kreed is the only man I’ll have in my life and takes up every inch of my heart,” I tell her honestly as she gives me another hug.
“I have to know what the doctor said,” Kreed says as we all make our way into the kitchen to grab our lunch.
“Okay.Well, because of my eating disorder, this is a high risk pregnancy.There is a chance for me to have a miscarriage and a few other things.I have all the paperwork in Cali’s purse to read through when we get home.For now, she wants to see me every other week and we’ll have at least one ultrasound a month until we know I’m out of danger.I have to remain eating well and she wants me to write everything down like I have been so she can get a look at how much I’m eating and how often my meals and snacks are.I have her number to call at the first sign of trouble as well.I just have to take things easy.Before going home, I’ll pick up my prenatal vitamins and the nausea medicine she gave me.For now, I’d like only you guys to know about the pregnancy.Since there is a risk, I don’t want everyone to know.Kreed and I will determine when it’s right to fill everyone else in,” I inform the table as we all take our seats.
“I’ll be at every single appointment with you.I’m not gonna let you go through this alone, Pixie.And we’ll tell everyone else when you’re ready.This is your decision and I support you completely,” Kreed promises me as he leans over to kiss me once again.“Thank you for givin’ me the best gift in the world.I love you, Pixie.”
“I love you,” I respond before eating the delicious lunch Laura and Sam prepared for us today.
The rest of lunch goes by great.We all talk and laugh despite knowing three of them are heading home.They’ve assured us the second we call for any reason, they’ll be back here.Tank held me in a tight hug for several minutes before I left.He made me promise to keep Maddie and him updated on the situation and let them know if we needed anything.He also gave me the phone numbers of the triplets and Zoey because they’re all closer to us than they are.It’s not like Kreed doesn’t have them, but I feel a little better knowing I can call them if the need arises.Cali takes me to the pharmacy while Kreed and Reckless return to work.No one can take the smile off of my man’s face and I’m happy I was able to make it happen for him.He’s light and free, already counting down the hours until he can return home with me.
