Sara shot him a quick glance, and he quirked his brows at her, evidently leaving that declaration in her hands.

“If he wants to be,” she said, her heart thudding hard.

Ezreal reached over and clasped her hand. “He would like to be, very much.” He then faced her children. “If that’s all right with you.”

Janna squealed louder than Sara had ever heard her daughter squeal before. She jumped from her chair and threw herself into Ezreal’s arms, with Brand right behind her. “Any idea when they’ll release Ahri?” Ezreal asked, pulling out a chair for Francie and indicating that she should sit down. Alex took the seat beside her.

“Probably not until after lunchtime.” He stabbed a pancake and put it on Nik’s plate.

“I’m surprised to see you here so early this morning, Ez.” Francie glanced between him and Sara with a raised brow.

“Ez said Sara’s his girlfriend now,” Lessa said. “Theykissed. Ew.”

Ezreal took Sara’s hand and brought it to his lips.

Rafe’s mother smiled and helped herself to a pancake.
