Her daughter had already spotted him and started waving her arms while she screamed his name. He grinned and waved back.
At first, Sara was so focused on him she didn’t hear anything Rafe was saying. Then he had other people join them on the balcony, and she recognized some of the names. Since Ezreal had mentioned Esports, she’d checked it out online and knew they were some of REKD’s top players. The summer splits that would lead up to the World Championship playoffs would start next week.
Finally, Rafe said something about the banquet and that the professional players would be available to meet with fans. He then declared the event officially open. The others turned back inside, but Ezreal caught Sara’s gaze again and held up a finger. He mouthedwait for me. Her heart fluttered, and the butterflies in her stomach started dancing. She nodded and he disappeared inside. It’d been days since she’d seen him, and she couldn’t believe how much she’d missed him.
While everyone else left, she and the children stayed in their seats.
“Can we go?” Janna asked and Brand tugged on Sara’s hand to get her to stand up.
“Ezreal’s coming for us.”
Both children stopped pulling on her and looked around again. Sara slowly got to her feet and pointed to the building’s entrance. Ezreal had gotten ahead of the others and was jogging toward them.
