“Yeah, you are.” His lips curve into a slow grin. “Don’t you just love it when I come visit and leave our girl covered in my scent... and cum?”
“Not really,” Carson drolls.
“Nope,” Reid huffs.
“Well, I do.” Damien chuckles. “Now, let's get out of here. I’m starving.”
“About that,” I turn to Carson and Reid. “I might have been keeping something from you.” I rub the back of my neck.
Their faces fall.
“Nothing bad. I don’t think. Let’s get to the car, and I’ll tell you everything.”
The guys practically drag me to the car. Once we’re in, they both turn to me. “Spill.”
“Okay, before you start to freak out, it’s nothing bad.”
“Sure, sure. Now spill,” Carson urges.
“Did you know your coach has a new Omega?”
Carson’s brows furrow. “Uh, I think?” Carson turns to Reid. “Did you?”
“I heard that he found his Omega, but we’re not close with any of the guys on the team, and Coach is not very open with his private life. Why are you asking that?”
“Sooo,” I laugh awkwardly. “I know his Omega. It’s my best friend, Cae.”
“What?” Carson’s eyes widen.
“How long have you known?”
“Not long!” I promise. “She just recently mentioned some guys she was seeing. After a few hints here and there, I put two and two together.”
“Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I don’t know.” I shrug. “When I found out she moved back to Nashville, I was kind of bummed. I miss her a lot, and I’ve been trying to keep myself busy. Not that it wasn’t hard.” I sigh. “It’sjust... knowing that she’s in Nashville now, but I moved away, sucks. Like, part of me thinks I should have just stayed put, and then I’d have her back in my life full-time. But I know that wasn’t a possibility because of money and everything. Anyway, I needed to work out my feelings about it. I know now that everything happened the way it should have.”
“That’s understandable,” Reid says.
“Wait, so you’re both packed up with people on the Scented Scorpions?" Carson asks.
“Looks like it.”
“So, when you come visit, that means we have to share our time with you and your best friend?” Carson scowls. “I don’t like that.”
“Don’t worry,” I laugh. “She’s a busy girl. If anything, we’d hang out at your practice or something. Plus, her job requires her to be with the team all the time. I love her, but I wouldn’t pick her over the little amount of time we get to see one another. I’ll find a way to make it work.”
“Good. I don’t think Coach would be too happy if I had beef with his Omega,” Carson grumbles.
“I wouldn’t be too happy if you had beef with her.” I raise a brow. “She’s my best friend. She’s family, so be nice. Or no sex.”
His eyes widen. “Nice? I can be nice. The nicest person ever.”
“If you really mean that.” I bite my lower lip. “Can I borrow one of your cars?” I bat my eyelashes, giving them my bestbig-blue-eyes-that-they-can’t-denylook.
“Why?” Reid asks slowly, narrowing his eyes.
“Her Alphasmayhave reached out to me to set up a surprise brunch. I have to be there to pick her up in about an hour.”
