Joon knocked on my doorframe just as I brought my chat window with Eva back up, poking his head into the room. “You busy?”

“Nah,” I said, closing it quickly. Maybe a little too quickly, even. I wasn't doing anything wrong, just trying to clear the air, but… something still didn't feel right about it as I turned in my chair, patting my knee for him to join me.

“Good, I miss you." My omega grinned, stealing a quick kiss and settling in my lap. "Oh—Are you on with everyone? You haven't done that in a while.”

“Oh my gosh! Is that Joon?” Tara shouted, making me wince at her volume as she straightened back up from picking up her round black cat, Inky, from the floor. “Take your headphones out!”

I sighed, ignoring the heat that'd crept up the back of my neck as I pulled my headphones off to hang around my neck. “Tara wants to yap, that okay?”

Joon nodded, and I pressed the button on the left ear cover until my headset chimed. Not that it needed to. It was obvious they'd disconnected the moment Tara's voice came through the speakers.

“Alright, lip service, you’re live.”

“Hiiii! I miss you!” Tara babbled excitedly. "You left so fast the other night, I feel like we barely got to hang out!"

I glanced at my boyfriend curiously. He hadn't said much about his adventure out to the club with Jesse and the girls, just that he'd had a nice talk with Cameo after. Sort of.

“Hey, Joon,” Eva said sheepishly, looking a little uncomfortable as she waved awkwardly to him through the screen. Between rounds, it looked like she'd taken off her massive pink hoodie, revealing the little daisy printed sundress underneath. “I'd better get ready to stream, but this was cool. It's good to have you back, Indi! We actually win when you're here!"

Joon pressed back against me in a way that was almost… possessive. Or, at least I'd think so if I didn't know better.

"Hey!" Charlie complained again. "We did fine without them."

"We did not," Tara complained. "Have a good show, E!"

The pink-haired omega gave a quick mock salute before disconnecting.

I watched with the sort of dawning dread of a horror-movie final girl as Tara's smile turned into a smirk, her attention shifting to Joon.

"You left sooooo fast last night, J…"

Joon cleared his throat uncomfortably, frowning at Tara. "Mind your business, it was…"

"Going pretty well until you freaked out," she pressed. "Come on, guys. How long are you going to do this? Like, really?"

"Do what?" I asked, shifting Joon in my lap, trying to catch the omega's eye.

Tara raised an eyebrow. “Keep going on like this? You guys still haven’t talked after Halloween? Or is this about the club?”

“The club?” I asked, looking at Joon. When he’d come home the other night, I thought I’d smelled Eva on him before he’d hopped in the shower, but it was gone so fast that I didn’t really think about it, especially not when he’d breezed past me, letting me know he was going to sleep with Cameo. It didn’t bother me. I liked that they seemed to be getting along a little better.

Cameo was so guarded after Mindy that it was nice to see some of that coming down. The alpha’s effort wasn’t unnoticed.

“Oh my god, you two,” Tara groaned. “Would you just make a move already!”

“I—” I started, but Jesse cut me off.

“And you obviously like her too, Indi,” Jesse said, entirely unhelpfully. "Since you were acting like an idiot with Jason and everything."

"Fuck off," I mumbled, leaning my chin on Joon's shoulder.

“I’m not sure how I feel about sharing,” my boyfriend said, fidgeting with his hands.

“And I don’t even know if she likes me like that,” I added.

Even Charlie, blind ass motherfucking Charlie, rolled his eyes at that one.

Fuck.
