When that bastard cocked his gun and put it to my Lily’s head, I saw red. I wanted to rush him and take him out. But I knew that if I did, I could lose Lily. And that wasn’t a chance I was willing to take. I followed Grady’s lead, even though I didn’t want to. But he’s been with Giovanna longer and I had to trust that he knew what he was doing.
“Why did you let them leave?” I snap at Grady.
“Because we will get them back.” He says as he heads for Sebastiano.
“Gia was taken.” He says to him.
“What the fuck are you talking about?” Sebastiano yells.
“Where’s my wife?” Declan asks as he looks at Grady.
We both explain what just happened. I watch Sebastiano get his phone out and stare at it.
“I got them they’re heading towards Evanston.”
“How the fuck do you know that?” I ask them.
“Giovanna has a tracker in her.”
“What the fuck are you talking about? A tracker?”
“I’ll explain it to you later. Right now we need my papà. He’ll tell us who’s coming with us.”
We head over to where Enea and some of the Lake Renegade council is. Sebastiano tells him what we know. I see the rage on his face. Giovanna’s his baby. All I can think of is Lily and if she’s okay.
Enea takes us over to one of the rooms backstage.
“You need to go now. When you get to them, no one goes in alone. We don’t know where they’re taking them. And we don’t know if they’ll hurt Lily or Giovanna.” Enea says.
I can hear the tremors in his voice as he talks.
“Tristan, Grady, Valentino, Eros, Apollo, Adonis, Galen, Celestino, Sebastiano, Ares, Georgios and Rónán. You’re all on this one. I know you don’t like being in the SUV’s. But your bikes will make too much noise. I want Sebastiano tracking them and when you find them, we need to know the layout of where they are. Whether it’s a house or a hotel. I don’t fucking care. We need to know what we’re walking into. Lorenzo, you’re on finding out who the fuck this is, Francesco you’re helping him. Zeus, Panagiotis, Giacomo and I will be there too. The rest of you are to stay here. Make sure all the women are safe. And as soon as this is over, get them all home.” Enea tells everyone.
We all start scrambling and head out.
“What if they separate Lily and Giovanna? I’ll lose Lily if they do that.” I say to Eros.
“Don’t think like that. We’re going to get her before they lay a hand on her.”
“You can’t promise that. I need her. How did we miss this fucker? They were waiting in the bathroom. We swept everywhere.” I say angrily.
“We didn’t before the party. No one thought we needed to because we already had before.” Adonis says to me.
“Well then we fucked up.” I snap at him.
“We didn’t fuck up. We did everything we could.”
“No we didn’t. If we had, Lily would be in my arms and not in a fucking car being taken who fucking knows where. We don’t even know who the fuck this is.”
“If you don’t calm down, you’ll stay in the fucking car.” Ares says to me. “You’re no good to us if you can’t keep your cool. This is why we don’t guard the ones we are with.”
I take a few deep breaths.
“I’m sorry. I just can’t lose Lily.”
“And I can’t lose my sister. I lost her once before. I won’t lose her again.” Sebastiano frowns at me.
