Before I can speak another word, he presses his lips to mine, shutting me up. “No,” he states, cupping the back of my head with his large hand. “No more talking. I said what I said.”

His lips close around mine, and I sigh into his mouth, pressing myself up against his chest. My head moves like waves in the sea. Kissing JJ is electrifying, and I can’t get enough, especially the way his tongue explores my mouth.

God, I’ll never get bored of this. It feels incredible.Hefeels incredible.

I pull back this time to look at him, pressing my hand to his shoulder. “What about Finn?”

JJ blinks rapidly. “What do you mean?”

“We need to think about when we’re going to tell him.”

“Do you think that’s the right idea, especially right now?”

I sigh. “Maybe not yet, but when he’s home and more stable.”

He keeps his eyes trained on me for a long moment. “Do you want me there?”

“Yes. I think it’ll be better if we’re both there. I should also tell my parents. Although I feel like they might already know from the night Finn went into hospital.”

He nods slowly. “Yeah, it needs to be done. I don’t want to have to sneak around anymore. Not touching you when we’re not alone has been fucking torture.”

The corners of my mouth tug upward. “That bad, huh?”

“Don’t act like you’re not the same.” He flashes me a knowing smirk.

I roll my eyes playfully. “I’ll catch you downstairs,” I say, leaning over to peck his pillowy lips.

“Sure, princess.” He cups my ass as I shuffle past him, giving it a light squeeze.

A squeal falls from the back of my throat. “Stop. Do you want my parents to hear us?”

“I like teasing you.”

I huff out a laugh. “Don’t I know it.”

SeeingFinn’s rehabilitation centre put my mind at ease.

It’s small but not overcrowded. I guess my parents paying for private care has its benefits, and I know they’d do anything to see their son get back on his feet again. No matter the cost.

After we sign in, the doctor takes us through the building before we walk out onto a patio with garden furniture. I glance around to find Finn sitting down with a mug in hand.

His eyes lock on us, and he stands up.

Mum and Dad surround him instantly, bringing him into a hug as I watch them shower him with love and affection.

Finn pulls away from them and glances at me, blinking in surprise.

“Ivy.” His breath hitches. “I didn’t think I’d see you.”

My mouth curls to the side. “I wanted to see how you were doing.”

He sniffles. “I’m doing okay.”

“Yeah?” My mother beams.

Finn clears his throat as we sit down in the chairs. He picks up his mug and takes a slow sip. “I guess hearing other people’s stories and their determination to change their lives puts mine into perspective. It made me realise I was in a dark hole.”

My dad places his hand on his shoulder. “Are they good to you here?”
