“Who are these girls?” the redhead asked, slurring her words.
“Oh my god, Logan, this party is crazy!” Macie offered.
“This is fucked up, isn’t it?” Logan said.
And I remained silent.
I couldn’t talk. I feared if I did, I’d break down crying.
Logan turned to the redhead as he put his boxer briefs on. I hadn’t noticed he brought his clothes with him. “These girls are my roommates.”
“Aww, you live with girls, isn’t that sweet,” she said. Then she started pawing at his hand as he worked at his jeans. “Why are you getting dressed? I won you.”
I won you.
Jesus fucking Christ, I was about to vomit.
His eyes shifted back and forth between the three of us, and I noticed a sheen of sweat on his brow.
“You won a kiss, sweetie. I don’t need to be naked for a kiss,” he told her.
I didn’t know why him calling her sweetie got my ire up, but it did.
Maybe it was because less than ten minutes ago his tongue was down my throat, and now he was going to kiss this bitch.
Everyone knew about her.
But it was all my doing that no one knew about me, wasn’t it?
As I pushed past him, he fell into the redheaded bimbo, and she almost fell to the ground, she was so drunk. Of course, I’d made it worse. Logan had to grab her since he wasn’t about to let her fall. I didn’t stick around to see what happened next.
There was no way I was going to watch him kiss her.
The footsteps behind me had to be Becca and Macie, but I also didn’t wait to see that either. Once back in the basement, I got myself a fresh beer, chugged it, and grabbed another.
Turning to the dance floor, I was decidedly on the prowl.
There were plenty to choose from. All you had to do was shake your ass in the middle of the floor and they swarmed you. Within seconds, I had two new guys on me. I chose the dark-haired one over the blonde. I wanted nothing to remind me ofhim.
“Hey, beautiful,” he cooed in my ear as he shimmied against my back.
His beer breath stunk, but if I closed my eyes, his firm hands on my hips helped me forget. I swayed to the beat, our bodies in sync. Putting my cup to my lips, I downed the contents in one gulp.
I was getting drunk. I needed to forget.
“Want another?” he asked.
“I’ll get it.” I was being stupid, but I wasn’t going to be that stupid.
But wasn’t I? Somewhere in the depths of my brain, I knew I was. I was being stupid and careless. With my heart. And maybe Logan’s. At the moment, I didn’t care.
I worked my way back through the crowd to find my dark-haired hottie waiting for me. He leaned in close, that breath nauseating me again. “You look beautiful.”
I smiled. Leaning close, I asked, “Are you on the team?”
He nodded. “Yeah, third year. I played at home, too. They’re a blast to be around, aren’t they?”
I chugged the beer and threw the cup to the floor. There was no need for us to get to know one another. Using both hands, I pulled him against me, still wanting to forget. He obliged, grinding his body into mine.
