“Don’t worry, Tink, I’m not stealing you. Sit back, it’s only about ten minutes from here.”

When I turned off the highway onto a dusty, remote road, her eyes lit up, wondering if I’d possibly lied to her. I smiled in her direction as the truck bounced on the bumpy road, making our way up the mountain. It wasn’t the biggest hill in the area, but it served its purpose.

Once I got to the outcrop I was familiar with, I pulled the truck over and turned off the lights.

“Take a look over there.” I pointed out her window.

“Oh my goodness,” she said in awe. “Is that campus?”

From this vantage point, the entire campus was visible. At night during winter, the view was stunning. So much more was visible without leaves on the trees. We may not be anywhere near a major city, but this was just as pretty from up here.

“It is,” I told her. “Found this last year when I needed some time to myself, which was quite often.” She looked back at me, her eyes soft. But she couldn’t take her eyes from the flickering lights of the campus below for long. “I’d come up here and just sit, sometimes for hours. And think. While I was home, this was one of the things I missed most.”

“It’s beautiful, Logan. Thank you for bringing me here.”

We sat, taking in the view for some time, enjoying the solitude of the night. The undisturbed area was void of any homes or people on a road that led to an abandoned workstation. I was pretty sure we wouldn’t be bothered by our roommates up here.

“Ava.”

She turned in her seat, pulling her eyes from the view out her window, but didn’t look at me. Instead, she stared at her entwined hands in her lap. She shoved her feet onto the dash and blew out a loud breath.

“I don’t know what’s wrong,” she said. “I’m sorry I was such a bitch tonight, and I have no idea why I was.” The light of the moon caught her eyes as her head fell back against the headrest in frustration. She ran her fingers through her hair, causing it to stick up.

“Look at me, Ava.”

She turned toward me, and I faced her with my arm out for her to come closer. She scooted on the bench seat and came to my side, head against my shoulder.

“When I walked in and saw you and Macie having so much fun together, I don’t know, something snapped inside.” Her arm went across my body, as if holding me helped her let it out. “I became so jealous that she could act like that with you, and I couldn’t.”

“But…” I started, but she cut me off.

She sat up, a stern look coming over her face.

“No, don’t say it. There’s no way we could act like that as roommates, Logan. There’s no way I could do that, play around like that and…not want to fall into your arms and kiss you. It would be all over my face.”

And she was right.

She was absolutely right.

“We’re running out of choices, Tink.”

Her face fell. That’s not what tonight was supposed to be. This was supposed to fix things.

I took her face in my hands, held it, and looked into her eyes.

“We’ll figure it out, I promise you. I’m not giving up on us.” And then I kissed her. It had been days since we kissed. Too long.

Too long since my lips had tasted hers, since my tongue battled hers. Both her arms went around my neck as she climbed onto my lap. My hand struggled to find the button to push my seat back, our bodies tight against the steering wheel. Grabbing her by the hips, I slid us across the bench to the middle, better able to spread out.

She fumbled with my shirt, struggling to get it out from behind me. Helping her, I pulled it over my head and tossed it to the floor.

“You’re next,” I said.

We were frantic. This was not like our other times, there was nothing slow and measured about it. She tore her coat, then her shirt from her body. I reached behind to unhook her bra, sad I couldn’t get a better view of her in it in the dark. She peeled off the dark lacy bra and dropped it, revealing her smooth white skin underneath.

My mouth was drawn to the dark pink circle in the center of her breast, and I sucked on it deeply. The feel of that metal bar and her taut nipple in my mouth made my cock hard in my sweats. I held both breasts in my hands, pushing them together. My mouth left her nipple, dipping between her breasts, lapping at her cleavage. The mounds of flesh were soft against my cheeks.

“Logan,” she said, her words breathy above me. “Let me get my pants off.” She pushed up on her knees the best she could in the cab, her head against the roof. I undid the button of her jeans as she wiggled them down below her hips to her knees.
