Instead she stood up and wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her chest on his chest. “I’m just glad no one was hurt.”

Drew wrapped his arms around her holding tight. This woman had every right to scold him and instead she was comforting him.

“So what’s our next move?” She asked leaning back to look him in the eye.

“We need to find Sykes. When the team gets here, I’ll have them give me a status report on the footage and finance records.” Then another thought came to him. “Do you think there’s a chance you can look around the Vegas area for other properties Sykes might own?” The guy had to have more than just the club. A house, or a safe house.

Shay’s eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. “Of course.” She didn’t waste another moment but left him to slide back into her seat and start working on the tablet.

If they could find where Sykes was hiding it should lead him to the other buyers. He hadn’t received any alerts of any of the buyers leaving the airport. If Djokovic was still here in town then the others were most likely too.

Drew was willing to bet Sykes had them at one of his properties. They just needed to figure out which one.

Chapter 23

The guys piled into the house single file. They looked a little worse for wear but they were alive. That’s what was important. They were all covered from head to toe in sand. Drew could see now the gash on Greg’s arm with his own eyes instead of the camera. It was a small flesh wound like Jack had said.

“You guys alright?” Drew asked, although he could see with his own two eyes they were.

“Never better,” Jack grinned after downing his glass of water. He set his glass in the dishwasher and returned to the living room.

“I could be,” Greg replied dryly, holding out his arm.

Drew would have rolled his eyes if the situation hadn’t seemed so dire. The man was a Marine and he was complaining about a scratch.

Shay was already prepared and had the first-aid kit ready. She ushered Greg to the dining room table and got to work helping him out of his jacket and rolled up his sleeve to clean the wound.

Jack walked past them and went straight for the kitchen pouring himself a glass of water. “Anyone want one?” He called out. No one said anything. Barry sat down at the dining room table. His eyes were on Greg who was soaking up the attention from Shay.

Drew knew the feeling. He’d been her patient too. Now wasn’t the time to think of that.

Drew waited for Jack set his glass in the dishwasher and rejoin them before he spoke.

“You guys are lucky.” Shay said while applying a bandage to Greg’s arm. It had been a graze so it didn’t require more than a cleaning and bandage.

“They were definitely ready for us.” Jack acknowledged, he looked up at Drew communicating without words the shitstorm they’d just survived.

“Greg, when we’re done here you need to have a word with your contact.”

Greg snapped his head up at him, a look of shock and confusion on his face. “My contact?”

“Why else do you think they were waiting? It was a set up.” Jack said in a matter of fact tone.

Greg swiveled in his chair to glower at Jack. That doesn’t mean my contact had anything to do with it.”

“Regardless,” Drew said taking the attention back on himself. “Speak with him. See if he knew anything. That’s twice now we’d had issues.” First, they were told there were drugs in the club when it was Shay and now this. He didn’t like.

Greg nodded, though he didn’t look happy about it.

With that settled he moved his attention to Jack. Jack met his piercing gaze head on. He wasn’t easily intimidated. Jack always had a positive can do attitude but when he was angry everyone better watch out. “Are you and Nick making any headway with the footage we got from the drive?”

“We’re cross referencing everyone. With Shay’s help we were able to identify quite a few. A few are staff members we’re using employee records to find. We discovered those that worked on the second floor were more involved with the behind scenes operation.”

“How do you know?”

“Financial records.” Barry piped in. “Sam and I have been combing through the employee records and following theirbanks. Some were harder to track than others. Using off shore accounts.”

“Someone that’s been doing this a while.” Drew guessed. It wasn’t surprising. To have this kind of operation you had to have people you could trust. “What about Billy?”
