Hooking her legs around his waist, she pulled him closer. Heightened tension built between her legs as he moved against her, rolling his hips. His bare chest touched hers, like fire touching fire.
She nuzzled his neck, breathing in his scent. His hand moved from her hip to grasp her thigh and the friction between them increased, erasing everything but this very moment. It was as if the world shrank.
There was just him and her. Nothing but their frenzied moves and sighs of pleasure.
His scorching breath teased her neck then her ear. “I want to see all of you,” he said, voice a low rumble.
Words were beyond her, but Lora found herself nodding. The weight between her legs lifted as he pulled back to go lower. Fingers slipping under her underwear as he dragged it down her bare legs. She wanted him to hurry but he took his time, his hands leaving a hot trail as the last piece of clothing left her.
Eyden kissed a path up to her inner thigh, his tongue burning her, getting so close to where she ached the most. But his head moved up, past that sensitive spot. Eyden’s hand still branded her thigh as his lips claimed her mouth once more, parting her lips as his fingers inched closer, teasing the inside of her upper thigh.
“What do you want?” he asked, lips moving to her ear as he drew a circle on her skin.
Lora opened her eyes to heated, liquid blue. “What do you think?” she answered, breathless as his fingers hitched up.
“I think I can’t know unless you spell it out.”
The use of her own words made her heart flutter against her will. She should be frustrated, but a daring smile split across her face. “If you move up an inch, you’ll find out pretty quickly.”
Eyden’s eyes widened a fraction. She opened her mouth to speak, but when his fingers brushed over that aching spot, her words became incoherent, drowned out by a cry of pleasure as her eyes squeezed shut. A satisfied groan vibrated on her skin as Eyden felt the evidence of how much she wanted this.
His hand pressed down on the bundle of nerves, moving up and down the centre of her. The moans leaving her lips were untamed, carefree, filling the room.
“I see what you mean now,” Eyden said, chuckling against her neck. His tongue branded her while his hand became relentless.
A finger slipped in and her hips flew off the bed as she shamelessly moved against him. Lightning ran through her. Lora pulled his lips back to hers. Her tongue mixed with his before her teeth caught his mouth, tugging on his bottom lip. Eyden made a sound she was becoming all too familiar with.
He pulled back barely, his mouth a feather-light touch on hers as his hand stilled and then moved to her hip, much to her disappointment. Eyden caught her sigh of protest, laughing softly, his breath dancing over her lips.
He lifted up on his elbows. Mischievous eyes caught hers as he started sliding down her body. “I’m thinking, I should find out if you want this even more. Find out just how much I can make you scream.” His tone was sinful, filthy, and she wanted to bottle it up to replay in her mind forever.
His head settled between her legs. The image would make her blush if she wasn’t already completely set alight. At the first brush of his tongue, a breathless scream left her lips. Her hips bucked, only steadied by Eyden’s hand. The hand around her thigh parted her legs as he dove deeper.
Her imagination hadn’t done him justice. The way he worked her was better than her steamiest dream.
She threaded her fingers into his hair. The pulsating heat in her core tightened more and more. Her breaths became faster, her skin burned like the brightest explosion. Her free hand clutched the duvet under her. Every muscle became tense.
And then her body turned into liquid lava as the intensity overwhelmed her, reaching its peak as she came. She might have screamed his name, but it got lost in the feeling of pleasure spreading through her.
Moving up, Eyden fell on his back next to her, breathing fast. Her body felt boneless, spent. Lora turned her head, placing her hand on his chest. She thought about moving her hand lower, but Eyden’s eyes drifted shut before Lora could do or say anything. Was there anything left to say? Anything that wouldn’t break this peaceful illusion they’d created tonight?
For once, Lora wasn’t plagued by thoughts of what tomorrow would bring. Blissful exhaustion took her mind as she lay beside him, listening to the gentle cadence of his breaths until she fell into a dreamless sleep.
Chapter55
Lora
Sunlight bathed the tent in yellow light. It was the first thing Lora noticed when she opened her eyes. The second thing was Eyden lying next to her, one arm thrown over her midriff, their legs tangled together.
Lora moved his arm slowly off her as she detangled herself. Scooting back on the bed, she searched for her phone and found it on the floor next to her shirt. Peeking at a sleeping Eyden, she quietly got out of bed, picking up clothes as she hurriedly dressed herself.
She almost cursed out loud when she unlocked her phone and saw the time. It was already late afternoon. They’d slept half the day away. She must have needed the rest, but she shouldn’t have been this careless. This was the day she’d return home.
Her gaze travelled to Eyden again. Daylight warmed his brown skin. The sheet hung low, revealing his bare back. Sleeping, he looked so peaceful, untroubled, so different from the furious version she’d seen yesterday. Or the teasing, wicked version she’d seen resurface later that night. She’d never see him like that again. He wasn’t hers to have. He never had been.
Part of her wished she didn’t have to see him again after what they’d shared. Whatever spoken goodbye they’d have later, it wouldn’t compare to their goodbye from last night. But Eyden was her easiest way back to the market, to home. She needed him, but she wouldn’t let him take any more risks than necessary.
His words still felt like a slap in her face. Hehadrisked his life for her more than once and there was absolutely nothing in it for him. Lora had nothing left to give.
