We talk a little more while the sun begins to dip.
“I’m heading to bed so I can get an early start out of here tomorrow.”
“Okay, see you soon! Let me know when you are heading this way.” I’m so excited she’s coming to Texas. I think I’m in need of a good sounding board right now.
“All right, girly, ’night.”
“’Night. Be careful and call me when you hit the city limits.”
“Love you, bye!”
“Love you too, bye, Ivy!”
Pulling up the driveway, I park my car by the pool house grabbing my purse and the flash drive that was supposed to go to Kane. Quietly closing the car door as to not alert my mom or Dennis, I step up to my front door. Just when I slide the key into the lock, I see out of the corner of my eye someone in the shadows.
“Holy shit!” I jump out of my skin, not expecting someone to be there.
“So glad you finally came home,” he voices and moves closer to me making me take a step back. He sees my retreat and stops his movements. “I’m not going to hurt you, Raegan.”
I take a deep breath to calm my rapid heartbeat and clear my throat.
“Really, cause not two hours ago you were grabbing me and saying some really shitty things to me,” I toss at him then cross my arms over my chest. “What are you doing here, Kane?”
“I needed to see you.”
“Well, I’m busy,” I snap at him, not able to shake my trembling nerves. Turning the key and pushing the door open, I step in leaving him by the doorway.
“Don’t be like that, Wildcat. Listen, I’m sorry, okay? I shouldn’t have acted that way towards you. I just…I saw you with Havoc and I didn’t like it. Lost my head for a minute.”
“There’s nothing going on between Havoc and me. We hashed out our past and are trying to be friends. I thought you’d appreciate it so we can all be one big, happy family.”
“He put his hands on you and I didn’t like it.”
“It was just a hug, Kane. You’re going to have to rein in this jealousy thing. Havoc and Riot have known me a lot longer than you, and we’ve got history together. You’re going to have to get onboard with that or else this won’t ever work.”
“I’m not jealous,” he grits out, but the tension in his shoulders and the way he balled up his fists tell a different story.
I start to tease, “Oh really, then you don’t mind me telling you about what Ian and I did when he—” Before I can finish, he tackles me throwing me over his shoulder and growling.
“Don’t you dare mention that fucker’s name to me.” He swats me on my ass a few times and then walks us towards the only room in the pool house.
He tosses me on the bed with a bounce then covers my body with his so that we’re nose to nose.
“Fine, I was jealous. All of this shit is new to me. I’ve never experienced anything like it before. I want to be the only one who touches this delectable body,” he says as his large hands skim over my skin. “I’m sorry for how I acted and will try my best not to let it happen again.”
I giggle at his half ass apology.
“Okay, and I’m sorry too for trying to make you jealous when I was leaving with Havoc. It wasn’t cool to act that way. I was hurt that you brushed me off. It won’t happen again.” He nods and then nuzzles his face in the curve of my neck, leaving a soft kiss just below my ear. “Is that the only reason for coming here and scaring me half to death?” I ask. “Wait, how did you know where I lived?”
He continues raining kisses over my sensitive body, leaving goosebumps along his trail.
“Havoc and Riot told me. We’ve got a lot to talk about, Wildcat, but first let me continue my apology.”
He starts to nibble under my ear while his hands tease my nipples.
“I think you’re off to a good start,” I pant, breathlessly.
He continues down to my exposed shoulder along my collar bone and then back up to my lips. He slides his hands up my shirt pulling my top off over my head. Reaching behind my back he unhooks my strapless bra then devours my breast. I fist my fingers in his hair pushing off his black ballcap bringing him closer to me.
