“You saw that?”
“Everyone saw that. The chick can definitely hold her own,” Brass points out with a chuckle and I follow right behind with my own.
We make our way into the clubhouse and the night is in full swing. The Sweetbutts are doing their thing half naked, rubbing up on the guys. The prospects are behind the bar serving shots and beer. I go and sit down on a barstool and get a beer placed in front of me. Immediately, I gulp back half and welcome the cool liquid as it makes its way down my throat. A hand on my shoulder alerts me and I turn to see who it could be.
“Need someone to help with the stress tonight, Stone?” Tessa muses as she glides her hand from my shoulder to the back of my neck hooking her arm around me.
With my free hand, I shove her hand off me like it’s the plague.
“Don’t ever touch a member unless asked,” I snap. Tessa looks affronted, but it doesn’t reach her eyes. Something is up with this bitch. “Go find someone else and don’t bother me again.” I turn my back to her and continue to drink the rest of my beer.
I hear her huff then she stomps off away from me. The only stomping I care about is from that little wildcat from earlier tonight. I know she was seconds away from doing it, and it was amusing to watch her hold it back. Damn, that woman has ruined me for any others.
After finishing two more beers, I decide to call it a night and head to my room. I need to clear my head. We have the war with the Vipers happening now, then with Raegan turning my life upside down since colliding back into my life two days ago has me all out of sorts.
As I enter my room, I lock the door and head to the shower. I need some relief, and if I can’t have Raegan under me then my hand will have to do for now.
It’s Thursday late afternoon and I haven’t seen or heard from my wildcat in two days. She hasn’t been running her normal routes or she’s avoiding me. Did she and that fucker hook up? Is he keeping her in bed when she should be running and bantering with me every morning? Well, fuck that shit! If that skimpy prick of a doctor thinks he has what it takes to satisfy that woman, he has another thing coming.
I reach for my phone and make a call to the one person I know who can tell me where to look for him without having to call up Hawk to hunt her down.
“Hey Stone.”
“Hey, Darlin’, need a favor.”
“Sure, what’s up?” I can hear my little niece in the background babbling away.
Allison and my brother, Kash or Blaze, have been married for a little over three years. When he transferred down here to be closer to us from Tucson, he met her at the local bar. She was almost nineteen at the time, and they hit it off right away. Next thing we know he gets pinched to do three years. They decided to get married a few months before he had to report to start his time. Their conjugal visits must’ve paid off because they have a two-year-old little girl, Annie, who is the spitting image of Blaze. Dad and Melissa have her spoiled rotten. We all make sure they’re taken care of while my brother is doing his time. Her family on the other hand has been nothing but a bunch of stuck up, rich pricks who threw her and her stuff out with the trash when they learned she was dating a Dead Road member. Ian might not have been around here at the time, but I consider him lumped in with those assholes since he didn’t make any effort to help her out at the time.
Yeah, we fight, mule drugs and guns, but we also do a lot of good for this town. When we came in to start this chapter, we made sure to clean up the dealers and sellers here in the small town. We also did a lot of charity work and runs to help out the local schools and small clinics. Things were starting to look up until we got a new mayor three years ago, and I think he’s the one who’s trying to push us out. Mayor Burns is a pain in our asses, and every business we own in the town is scrutinized under the city and police. We get inspections regularly, and the health department makes a visit every quarter or so, which is complete bullshit. But the town somehow thinks he is the best thing to ever happen to this town and no one has had the balls to run against him.
“Where does your brother live? I need an address,” I ask.
“Stone, what has he done now? I just saw him and his new friend last night, so he couldn’t have gotten in that much trouble.”
“New friend?”
“Yeah, she’s a real pretty thing. I think he’s completely smitten with her. They stayed kind of late last night helping put Annie to bed.”
Well, fuck me! He’s already introducing her to family.
I grit my teeth so hard I know that if I don’t relax soon I will chip the ones in the back. “Did you catch her name?” I seethe. I’ve never been the jealous type, but this woman is turning me into a psycho, causing me to do things I’d normally never do.
“Raegan, but I don’t recall her last name. Why?” she asks confused.
“Nothing. Address, Allison.”
“Only if you promise not to hurt him, Stone. We’re finally back to normal, and I need him in my life right now.”
“Fine,” I say exasperated even though I want to snap his neck like a twig.
She lists off his address, and I make a mental note that he lives in the prominent area of the city. We don’t venture out that much in the area because most of the city’s elite who are against us live over there.
As I’m making my way out to my bike, I’m stopped by Bear and Blade.
“Hey Prez, are you coming to the race?” Blade asks.
“I hadn’t planned on it, why?”
