“She is Madame Goux’s daughter correct?”

“Again, this seems like a questions you should be asking her.”

“Why are you interrupting us? We are in the middle of rehearsal,” Erik’s snapped question breaks the stare off we have been having.

James is watching us thoughtfully, as he obviously eavesdrops.

A door slams from outside, and David turns, “Fine, I’ll go ask her.”

“Take a break Erik,” James murmurs as he follows his twin. “Christianna needs a break anyway, her fingers look to be going numb.”

Erik’s eyes snap in my direction as James starts quizzing David as they head out to Meg’s bungalow.

Remy wanders in from where he had been working in the kitchen.

He passes off water bottles to Erik and twists off the lid and hands another to me. Walking behind me to massage the tension I didn’t realize had built in my shoulders.

I groan as his thumb hits a knot.

“What are they yammering about?” Erik asks.

I snort a little, “David must have caught Meg dancing to your music. She’s so talented, and he was upset he was unaware of it.”

“He finally put together she was Madame Geroux’s daughter?”

I gape, “how did you know?”

He waves his hand dismissively. “They dance very similar, and when she dances she wears her hair the way her mother did in a long braid.”

Remy’s hands never falter at the revelation and I tip my head back.

“You knew as well?”

He shrugs, “I do background checks, her name was legally changed. It wasn’t a deception. I understand wanting out of your parent’s shadow.”

Reaching up I squeeze his wrist.

“Your dad is a great businessman, but he doesn’t see people, not the way you do.”

He stares down at me, his eyes crinkling with warmth.

“Tianna, do you need a break? If not, I think we have it, we will go with my ending. Nothing in this song fades.”

Huffing a sigh I turn to Erik. “Can we take a break? Also I agree.”

He nods as if there was no doubt and turns to the dogs that are curled up under his bench.

“Come along boys, let’s go outside.”

I guess we all get a break.

Chapter one hundred eleven

Erik

I have switched us to a different song. It flows better when she is playing with me.

Collaboration with her is easy, but currently I am having trouble focusing, and this never happens. It’s her. All I can think about is the noises she made earlier this morning.
