For a couple of minutes, we just stood here and didn’t say anything. He eventually cleared his throat, so that he could say something.
“I ain’t going to lie, I was in my feelings a little bit the other night when I found out that you took Riot with you to make that play, and not me. After I thought about it, I understood why you had to do it. You don’t trust her enough yet to have left her at the stash house with the girls, and that’s why you made me stay back, and do it. I also know for certain that you didn’t think you were going to pull up in the middle of that war. I was tripping calling her out her name. I let my frustrations get the best of me. I feel like you chose wisely with her though. I don’t know what the fuck it is that the two of you got going on, but she solid, and I feel like she’s going to bring something to the organization that we were missing. You can tell that she’s hungry for this shit. She ain’t sit down to take a break since she got here a few hours ago,” I liked to hear shit like that.
I already knew that I was turning Riot into an even bigger beast. I saw hunger in her, and that’s why I put her on. That girl was going to be something. I was sure of it.
I stood back, talking with Mook for a little while longer, and then I left out, going for the back. That’s where the product room was. I keyed in the code to get inside, and the doors opened for me. I scanned the room, looking around, seeing that there were over twenty men in here. Each of them were doing their own thing.
I scanned a little more, and I found Riot. Like she always was, she was in her own world, with a notepad in front of her, and I’m sure it’s what she was using to track inventory. The dooropening, and then me walking in, it caused her to look over in my direction. She didn’t smile or anything, but I swear to God she was happy to see me.
I spoke to the men in the room, and then I made my way over to her. I paused in front of her, looking down at her.
I looked down at the notes that she’d written, and her handwriting was nice. It was really detailed on the things that we needed, so I picked it up, and I looked it over.
“Who’s usually in charge of bagging up the coke here?” she asked, lifting her head up, so that she could look at me.
“The same young niggas that’s in here right now are usually the ones that bag it up. I’m not at the warehouse all the time. I only step in on nights like tonight, when I want to see what the inventory is looking like before we re-up, or I like to come down on nights after we get a shipment. Mook usually runs shit over here. If he can’t do it, then Bray or Kendrick will step in. Why what’s up?” I asked, crossing my arms, wanting to know what she was getting ready to point out.
There was a box sitting next to her, and she went inside of it. She pulled out about ten small baggies of coke. She sat them down on the table that was in front of her, and she picked them up one by one, showing them to me.
“The weight is never consistent. I can go through other boxes with you and show you that the quality in each bag is never the same. The fact that the weight is so inconsistent each time, that shows me that it’s not something that’s being done on accident. If all this product comes from the same batch, then the weight of it should be close. It don’t gotta be perfect, but it should be damn close. How can the numbers be right, but the product is off?” she asked me, everything she saying to me making complete sense.
I picked up about five baggies in my hand, and just like she’d mentioned, they were all off. None of the weights were the same. She had a small scale sitting to the right of her, in which I pickedup, weighed each baggie, and none of the numbers were even close to each other.
“I’m curious to know what your explanation is to the shit being off like this,” I responded, and she shook her head.
“Nothing. I’m not a snitch. I’m just telling you the pattern that I picked up on,” she said, trying to turn her back on me, and get back to work, but I placed my hand on her shoulder, turning her around, so that she could face me.
I wanted her to continue talking to me.
“But that ain’t how this work. We bust our guns together in the car. You saved me, and I saved you. If you see something, then say something. I know how I’m feeling, but I’m curious to know how you’re feeling about the situation,” I was on her ass, looking into her eyes, wanting her to talk.
The whole time that I’m standing here looking at her, all I could think to myself was how fuckin pretty her ass was. She had perfect, hydrated skin. I mean, that shit damn near looked like glass. Then, I loved the color of her eyes. This room was well lit, so I felt like the green in her eyes really stuck out today.
I fucked with her fit, just like I would the rest of the outfits that she would wear. It wasn’t anything too crazy though, especially since she was down here to work. Just a pair of gray tights, and I could see the white tank top that she wore up underneath a distressed gray sweater. The sweater had an oversized look to it. Her curly hair was pulled up into a ball that sat on top of her head, and silver and white dunks were on her feet.
I felt like this was my first time seeing her in tights, and because it was, you could see the way her little ass poked out just a tad bit. Thick women, or slim/ thick was usually what I’d gone for in the past, but I liked Riot’s shape. That shit was sexy to me. Small, but mighty.
“I just got here. I haven’t even been here a whole month yet. Throwing out wild accusations is the best way to get everyone here to start hating me. I told you what I felt like the problem was. This is your shit, right? Then, you do with it what you feel is best,” she said, and I nodded.
“So, you think somebody stealing the product, or they getting high with it?” I just went ahead and threw it out there.
“I said I’m not telling you. Figure it out Dominique,” she was cold with that shit.
No lie, hearing her call me Dominique made my dick jump. Girls really didn’t call me that shit. Family did. When I was seconds away from pissing any of the women off in the family, they would be quick to call me by my government name, but that was it. She did that shit so smoothly too.
“Yeah, okay. Don’t leave out tonight with Mitch. I got some more moves to make, and then I’ll come back and get you, so I can take you home, aight?” I asked.
“I don’t like that idea. I feel like I’m going to look like the girl that’s fuckin the boss, and that’s the only reason why I’m moving up in the company,” she said, and that shit made me laugh.
“You going to get moved up in the company because your sharp. I like your mind. I like the way you think. You didn’t give me vibes that you give a fuck what other people gotta say about you. Why you care if they think that we fuckin? What’s wrong with that?” I asked, genuinely wanting to know.
Like her ass didn’t hear me, she waved me off, moving away from me, so that she could get back to work. I stood back smiling, watching her, and when I started feeling like she was making my ass look goofy, I picked up my feet, so that I could move.
I let her know again that I would be back for her, and that she didn’t have to ride with Mitch. She said okay, so hopefully her hardheaded ass listened.
I left her right there, and I walked out.
I handled a few things upstairs in my office, and then I completely left the warehouse altogether. Riot had me paranoid now, feeling like I might have had someone working up under me that was getting high off the supply, or I had someone that was stealing from me. With that in mind, as I drove around, combing the streets, keeping the volume turned down low in the car, I wanted to check all my stash houses, and my corners.
