“I’ll go in back and get the pot and make some
coffee for both of us.”
He tilts his head slightly, giving me a dubious
look.
“What?” I ask. “You have this look like you’ve
got a jackhammer in your head. I almost feel sorry
for you.”
“Thanks,” he says, looking at me suspiciously.
“Sit down, I’ll make the coffee and try to round
up those two aspirins I saw somewhere. They
should be in the emergency kit in the employee
bathroom.”
He nods and takes a seat at the bar, letting his
head fall as I go back to find that coffee pot.
The last thing I need this morning is dealing
