I cross my arms over my chest before throwing a thumb at the door. “Um, are Theo and Dom, like, together?”
His head rears slightly as he blinks. “I don't think so? Why do you ask?”
A startled laugh leaves me. “I can't believe I get to be the person to tell you this, but I just saw them, very passionately, making out in the hallway while they,” I make a smooshing motion with my hands, “did this to that poor lady from the bar.”
His brow furrows. “Huh… It makes more sense now.”
“What makes more sense?!” I clamber onto the bed, shoving him aside as I get comfortable. I prop my chin in my hand as I smile. “Tell me all of the juicy details.”
Rowan places a hand on my side, trailing it over my skin as he shrugs. “They’ve always been super close. There was a point when we wondered whether they were together, but neither would say. It’s not like we would have cared. They're our brothers, and everyone is welcome in the syndicate.”
“Very progressive of you, Assassin Man.” I chuckle.
His lips twitch. “Something made them split up, and no one really brought it up. Dominic is hard to get anything out of. He isn't one to just openly talk about his feelings.”
“What caused them to split?” I wonder.
Rowan frowns as his hand stills on my hip. “A woman…”
Now we’re getting somewhere.
“Do you know who she is?” I ask, hoping to get a little more information from my husband.
“No, but sometimes I wonder…” He shakes his head, and I wilt.
“Oh, come!” I jostle his shoulder. “You can't lead up to that and not give me anything!”
He gives me a withering expression. “It’s all gossip. I don't even know if my theory is true.”
“You have a theory?” Excitement radiates from me.
He sighs in resignation. “Yeah, I have one.”
“Spill.”
“None of this is proven,” He says pointedly. “But there’s another assassin from the Southern branch. She’s actually the leader out there now. Her name is Bailey, and they all met years ago while out on a hit. They kept bumping into each other, and I think they may have developed feelings for her.”
Oh, this isgood.
“So, why don't they just go and scoop her up? Rowan-style.” I smirk.
He laughs. “Well, she’s engaged—”
“Oh, fuck me…”
“Yeah,” he nods. “There is no scooping her up. She’s planning to get hitched to her long-time fiancé within the next year.”
I don't know Theo and Dom too well, but there’s a creeping suspicion that begins to formulate in the back of my head. Theo seems unhinged as it is. Dom is more of a silent fuse—sizzling quietly until things get to a head. “Do you think they’ll interfere with the wedding?”
Rowan pinches the bridge of his nose as he closes his eyes. “Fuck, if you’re thinking it too, this isn't good.”
Premeditated stressing.
This man needs some head.
I place a hand on his shoulder before rolling him onto his back and slinging my leg over his hips. “That’s a problem for another day. Let me get your mind off of it…”
He grabs my hips tightly before grinding me down onto his cock. “I’m going to need alotof distractions, Sunshine.”
