“God, I need you.”

“Let me take care of you.” I straightened upright and shifted to rise a few inches before dropping down, taking him hard and deep.

We both cried out.

After that, everything blurred into heat and need and sweat and soft grunts and groans. Our bodies did the talking for us.

The pressure built unbearably. I rode the razor edge of pleasure as long as I could stand it, but eventually, I had to give in to my body’s demands.

I threw my head back, hand wrapped around my aching cock, and came with a ragged cry.

Flynn grabbed my hips in a bruising grip and thrust up hard and deep, grinding into me until he shuddered and climaxed, too.

We collapsed into a heap, and I grabbed a couple of tissues from the box by the bed to do a hasty cleanup. We could shower again in the morning.

I cuddled against Flynn, resting my head over his still-racing heart. “You can’t take risks like that anymore.”

“Hmm?”

“Like with Snake,” I said. “Promise me you won’t ever risk yourself if you don’t have to? You’re too important to me.”

He sighed and kissed my head. “I’m sorry, Bailey. I should have been more careful.”

“Yes.” I met his gaze. “You might do anything to protect Aiden, me, or even my brothers. I admire that quality. Just understand that I’ll do anything to protect you. You don’t have to be thestrongone. Or shoulder all the weight. We’re in this together.”

“I want to take care of you,” he said hesitantly.

“And I want you to,” I said. “Just be ready for me to take care of you too, honey pie.”

His lips quirked. “I can live with that.”

“Good.” I pressed a kiss to his neck. “You don’t really have much choice.”

He chuckled softly and tightened his arms around me. “Have it your way, baby. Just as long as you keep me.”

“Always,” I promised.

I might only be twenty, and life could be unpredictable, but I knew that Flynn and I were the real deal. He’d been through too much to take love for granted, and I’d learned a long time ago how to take the measure of a man.

Like Dalton said, Flynn was one of the good ones.

I was smart enough to hold on tight and never let go.

CHAPTER 31

Flynn

“That smells amazing.”I leaned in around Bailey, spotting bacon cooling on a paper towel. “Ooh. Breakfast?”

I reached for a salty strip of heaven, and he smacked my hand away.

“Don’t eat that!” He waved to a cutting board covered in jalapenos and two blocks of cream cheese. “This is my Thanksgiving specialty. I make it every year. It’s not Thanksgiving without it. Holden taught me the recipe when I was like ten.”

“Ahhh, my bad.” I watched Bailey’s face while he shifted over to slice open a jalapeno and clean out its seeds. “He really was like a dad to you, huh? You make that joke all the time, and I thought it was because he was bossy.”

“Heisbossy as fuck,” Bailey said with a quick smile. It was fond. He loved the hell out of his big brother. “But yeah, my foster mom died when I was like seven. Foster dad went deep into the booze. Gray was sort of holding down the fort, but whenhe left, Holden had to drop out of college to hold the family together.”

“He took off?”
