“She agrees with that?”

“She does.” Vex lowered his voice and said, “We talked to her father and ex-fiancé last night. Neither would have rescued her. Thank God you found out she was there.”

“The Ravagers aren’t a group to mess with,” Razor reminded him.

“Would you leave Honey there?”

“Never. I’m part of a MC. What’s her background?” Razor asked.

“I don’t know for sure. I know she’s not from a blue-collar family. Her father had the money for the ransom but didn’t pay it. Street said her apartment was in an excellent area with high-quality furnishings. I’m not grilling her for information. None of that matters to me.”

“You’ve got it bad,” Razor said.

“I do. And I’m okay with that.”

Angel yawned, drawing their attention. Razor looked back at Vex. “Sleep is the best medicine for her body and mind. I’m a call away if anything new happens or if her trauma keeps showing up in her dreams.”

“Thanks, Razor.”

“Honey, we need to let Angel rest,” Razor called.

“Oh! We’re having fun,” Honey protested.

“I think your Daddy needs to take a nap as well,” Razor told her, waggling his eyebrows suggestively. “You’ll tuck me in, won’t you?”

Honey almost upset her chair in her haste. “I could be sleepy,” she said before turning to Angel. “I’m glad to meet you. If you’d like company, let me know. I’d love to come play with you again.”

“I’d enjoy that, Honey. I’m glad Razor’s back too.” Her answer rang with honesty.

The Littles were already on their way to becoming great friends. Vex liked Honey even more now for welcoming Angel.

With a goodbye wave, Honey eagerly rejoined Razor and allowed him to help her out of the nursery.

“Come here, Baby girl.” Vex opened his arms to beckon her toward him.

Angel walked quickly into his embrace. “Hi, Daddy.”

“Hi, Angel. It’s time for your nap. Do you want to rest in here or in Daddy’s bed?”

“Are you going to nap?”

“I will stretch out with you if you’d like.”

“I’d like,” she answered with a nod before turning to consider the crib. “Are we too big to fit in the crib?”

“Let’s try it. Potty first.”

When she’d finished in the bathroom, Vex scooped his blushing Angel up in his arms and carried her to the nursery. He stopped for her to collect Sammie from the table. At the crib, he set her feet on the ground as he flipped back the comforter. When Angel climbed onto the mattress eagerly, he guided her up with a helpful boost to her bottom and squeezed himself in next to her.

“We fit, Daddy,” Angel said happily, settling against his chest. Her jaw popped as a wide yawn stretched her mouth open.

“Sleep, Baby girl.”

Chapter 6

When Angel woke up, Vex held her close. His green eyes focused on her. Self-conscious, she wiped her mouth, hoping she hadn’t drooled on him. “Hi.”

“Hi, Angel. You took a long nap. Good job.”
