His face rested above mine, and his breaths became more labored as he moved, moaning as he rocked into me, enjoyingmy body the way I enjoyed his. Every time he moaned, it sent a chill down my spine and caused a small explosion in my core.
I felt it creep into my skin, the same burning pleasure he’d given me before. It was slight in its introduction then built slowly, like a fire getting more logs for its flames. But the more it increased, the faster it accelerated. Within a span of two breaths, it was there—and I felt my entire body tighten.
“Morco…” My nails clawed deep into his flesh, and I felt his thrusts increase when he knew I enjoyed it. My vision turned hazy as the tears blocked my sight. When they spilled down my cheeks, I could see again, looking at Morco above me and experiencing the best high I’d ever known. “Yes…”
He moaned then grunted, watching me revel in the connection and intimacy I’d only read as words on a page. Would it feel this way with anyone? Or did it only feel this good with him?
This one was longer than the last, a burn that continued to ravage anything in its path. I moaned in his face and then gave a quiet scream, feeling my body melt away and then solidify once again.
He thrust into me harder than before, and that was when it started to hurt, when there was more of him and more often than before. But his face was tinted red, and his eyes looked to be in a daze that matched mine, like he was there with me. His thrusts became uneven, and his moans sounded like animalistic grunts and vocal bursts of pleasure. Then he went still, his heavy body on top of mine and keeping me pinned in place. He breathed for several seconds before his mouth dipped to mine, and he kissed me, kissed me hard like this was the beginning rather than the end.
I knew once that happened, it was over, at least for a while.
But he stayed deep and hard inside me, like what I’d thought happened hadn’t come to pass. The kiss ended and he pulled away, his eyes hungry again, his chest slightly damp from the sweat. Then he started to move inside me just the way he had before. “Is this okay?”
“Yes.” I felt his hard chest, hard like a hot stone. “I don’t want you to stop…”
I woke up when I felt him move from the bed.
Buck naked, he approached the dying fire and leaned down to throw on another log to keep it burning dimly. Sparks flew at the collision, and after the fire leaped to life, it burned down once more.
Squatted down on the rug, he watched it burn for a moment before he rose to his full height and came back to me. When he pulled back the sheets, his eyes caught mine before he joined me in bed.
He hooked his arm around the small of my back and pulled me to him, my leg hiked over his hip, our naked bodies flush. He shared the pillow with me, his sharp eyes looking into mine with the same intensity he always wore, even half asleep.
I stared back, admiring his hard jawline, his dark eyes. The most beautiful man I’d ever seen—and he was all mine.
“I didn’t hurt you?”
“If you did, I didn’t notice.” I circled his neck with my arm and played with the short strands of his dark hair. My tits were warm against his bare chest. My entire body was warm with him there, especially my heart.
A subtle smirk moved over his lips, hardly noticeable.
“Can we stay here today?” I had no idea if it was morning yet. We could have just slept an hour—there was no way to know. It was one of the things I didn’t like about living in a dark chasm.
“No.”
That was the answer I expected, but I was still disappointed.
“But you can.”
“Not without you.” I rubbed my hand over his hard chest, loving the cuts between his muscles, the constant heat he generated just by being a man. “Where you go, I go.” We hadn’t shared our feelings toward each other until he’d confronted me, and now that the dam had been broken, I let the emotions flood out.
He didn’t seem to mind, judging from the way he looked at me. “Caius should have been back by now. I’ll need to look for him with a few guys. Make sure he’s okay.”
“I’ll come with you.” I meant what I said. Whether it was straight into danger or the comfort of his cabin, I was with him until the end.
He didn’t tell me to stay. “We’ll see if he shows up by the afternoon.”
“You think something happened to him?”
“I don’t know. It’s possible they just didn’t want to come back empty-handed and they continue to hunt. Caius and Liam areseasoned soldiers, and the sciwards don’t come this way, so I find it hard to believe something happened to them.”
“What about Krull? What if he did something?”
Morco’s handsome face didn’t dissolve into anger. “He’s probably already dead by now. And if he’s still alive, he’s not a threat.”
“Those wolves, coyotes…whatever they are…were easy for us to find.”
