“And babe, the police stopped her and questioned her about it.”

Hawk turned to me, and I swear my blood froze in my veins.

“What did you tell them?”

“I told them that we went out to have dinner and stayed there most of the day. I swear. Proctor told me not to say anything about him killing them if questioned about it, but I’m just scared, Hawk. I don't know if they believed me.”

“Listen. If they’re asking questions, that means they don’t have answers. If Proctor told them to come to you, that’s why they came. You should be straight.”

“I should be straight, Hawk? What if I’m put on the stand? If I lie on the stand then I could later face jail time for perjury. That shit doesn’t sound good either.”

Hawk shook his head and put his hands in his pockets.

“You’re not going to jail. Nobody’s going to jail, and you are not getting on the stand.”

“How do you know that?”

“Because I know a way to avoid all of that if need be. Just relax and know we got you. Alright?”

“Okay, thanks.”

I replied, and Hawk walked out the door. Cyn turned to me on the bed, hugging me as tightly as she knew I needed her.

“Cyn, I’m so scared.”

“Don’t be friend, we got you. You will be fine, and that’s a promise.”

She comforted me in the moment. I was trying to keep calm, but that was easier said than done. This was something I never expected to happen.

All I can do is pray and hope that Cyn, Proctor, and Hawk were all telling the truth and that everything would really actually be okay.

Chapter 12

Nina

12:00 pm

I was getting my pussy ate for the fifth time this morning, and we hadn’t even been up for two hours. Cole was a monster, and he loved the way I tasted. I could tell by the way he stayed locked in, like he couldn’t get enough every time I said,“I’m coming. I’m coming. I’m coming.”

Once I finished on his tongue, he rolled onto his back, satisfied because he had satisfied me.

I truly had fun last night, and I never thought I could have fun with someone else besides Hawk.

“So, do you have plans today, baby?” he asked.

“Not really. I pretty much do what I want every day. My businesses run themselves, but I do step in if need be.”

“I like that. Girls back home don’t really be about their business like they should. The most motivated female I ever dealt with was a bitch that did hair, and even then, she was always closed on the days she should’ve been open and making money. She always wanted to be too involved with the crowd and left her business lacking at times.”

“Yeah, a lot of females are like that.”

I replied, rolling onto his chest.

“Well Nina baby, if you don’t have shit to do today, then you're stuck with me.”

“Says who?”

“Your man, that’s who.” Cole placed a kiss on my lips before he moved me and got out of bed.
