Juarez crowded up in the space again but this time Diggs didn’t complain. “Dang, man, does that say what I think itdoes?”

Diggs dropped his head into his hands, shoved his palms over his scalp, trying to rub some sense into his brain. “Something’s not righthere.”

“Seems right to me. She’s definitely got the attitude,” Juarezsaid.

Diggs shot him a glare. “She was terrified. Terrorists don’t have that kind offear.”

Juarez shrugged, not convinced. “Unless they’re on the run from the CIA orFBI.”

“It doesn’t make sense. What does that have to do with the dog?” If she were truly criminal, she wouldn’t have hauled an injured dog’s ass out of their facility. She wouldn’t even have stopped on the side of the road in the firstplace.

Something about her niggled at the back of his mind, sinking in enough that he couldn’t just accept what he was seeing at face value. There was something else going on here. Somethingsinister.

Diggs quickly scanned her profile again, looking for any other details he may have missed in her history. Then he went back to Trigger’s screen, looking for any times they might’ve crossed paths. Shelters he might’ve been located at near her hometown. When that turned up nothing he went back to the handler, reading his history. JeremyWade.

Diggs’ fingers flexed on the mouse.Wade.

He went back to Audra’s screen.Audra Wade.“They’re related.” And that BOLO had been put out on her the day after Jeremy was KIA. “You seethis?”

Juarez’s amused grin fell as he studied the two screens. “Yeah. That’s herbrother.”

“Look at the dates, Juarez. They slapped a warrant for her one week after hisdeath.”

“They’re after her. You know the military will leave alive no one with any hint of incriminating information, especially if they’d been doing some illegal shit over there. Can you access the files on Jeremy’s last mission?” Juarezsaid.

Diggs’ fingers flew over the keyboard, faster than before as he felt a rising sense of alarm. The screen flashed red with one word, dead center, “CLASSIFIED.”

“What about the dog—does it say anything about his last mission? He would’ve been with hishandler.”

Diggs searched the database, but Trigger’s profile stopped the day of Jeremy’s death. “Why would the military put classified information on a low level First Sgt. and hisdog?”

Juarez sighed, rubbing a knuckle along his jaw. “I think we need to get your woman back and have atalk.”

“She’s not my woman.” Although he kind of liked the sound ofthat.

“Don’t all service dogs gettrackers?”

“Of course.” He worked on getting the satellite GPS pulled up on the monitor. If he had enough time he could work on hacking into that classified file, but right now they needed to find Audra before she pinged thatBOLO.

And if the FBI caught her before they did, none of them would besafe.
