"Give me your phone."

She unlocks it and hands it to me. I put my number in, then my address. "Text me if you can't make it."

"I will," Brook says as she goes past me. "See ya tonight."

The scent of her perfume lingers, distracting me. Whenever I smell it, I think back to that moment at our lockers. She acted angry that I got that close to her and yet she didn't try to push me away. As much as she wants to deny it, there's an energy between us. Whenever I'm around her, I feel it. It's almost like the rush I feel right before a game.

As the morning continues, I keep finding my thoughts going back to Brook. The girl irritates me to no end so I don't know why my brain keeps fixating on her. Is it because I keep running into her? Class. My locker. The bus. She keeps showing up wherever I am. And then I invite her over tonight. What the hell? I need to get some distance from this girl. I'm not going to be her friend, or anything else. She's just someone I need to tutor Jacob.

"Hey, Dean," Leah says as I'm walking to lunch. She gives me that smile. The one she gave me last year at a party. The one that led us to having sex.

"Hey." I open the cafeteria door for her. "Haven't seen you around this year."

"I missed the first day. My aunt died."

"Sorry."

She shrugs. "I didn't really know her. She was a drunk who never left her house." Leah turns to me, rubbing her hands over my chest and looking up at me with that smile. "I was thinking of having a little party tonight. Just you and me. A bottle of whiskey."

At that party last year, I got wasted on whiskey. Leah did too. I poured it on her body and licked it off. It was freaking hot.

"I can't tonight."

"How about tomorrow?" She runs her tongue over her lips and my mind goes back to that night. To her lips wrapped around my cock, her tongue doing things that had me ready to burst.

"I don't know. Maybe."

"You still have my number, right?"

"Yeah." I glance over at the cafeteria line. It's practically to the door. "I need to get in line. I'll talk to you later."

Walking away, I see Brook out of the corner of my eye. I'm guessing she saw Leah with her hands all over me. I wonder if she knows my rules about girls. I'm guessing by now at least one person has told her. I'm sure she's heard my nickname. The Destroyer. It's not a fair name. I'm not trying to destroy a girl's heart. They all know I don't do relationships. It's sex and that's it, and it's usually only one time. I don't string a girl along and then ditch her.

"You back with Leah?" Kendrick asks, joining me in line.

"I was never with her. We had sex. One time."

"Shit, she's hot."

We watch as she talks to her friends at a nearby table. She's wearing a cropped shirt and really short denim skirt. When she leans over, you can practically see her ass. She's got it aimed in my direction, knowing I'm watching.

Kendrick nudges my arm. "She's giving you a show, bro."

"I see that." I watch as she leans over more, reaching across the table and making her top ride up to just below her breasts. The girl has an amazing body. Long legs. Big breasts. Golden brown skin, compliments of the tanning salon where she works.

"Fuck, if you don't want her, I'll take her," Kendrick says. "What'd you tell her?"

"I said I'd let her know. She wanted to hook up tonight but I'm busy. I told her maybe tomorrow."

"Busy?" He turns to me. "Doing what?"

"I've got stuff going on with Jake tonight."

"Forget your stupid brother and go out with Leah."

"I can't. I need to be home tonight."

"Your brother's what...15? He doesn't need a babysitter. You can leave him at home for a few hours."
