“Tempting, but I respect peoples’ privacy,” she replied. “Unlike some people who I will refrain from mentioning.”

“It was one time! It’s not my fault you didn’t lock the bathroom while you were taking a piss!”

The tour became a blur of highways, cities, and arenas. San Francisco was next, followed by Portland. We laughed, fucked, shared drinks, played card games, and teased each other like we’d been lifelong friends.

There was a brewery in Portland that Cash wanted to visit, but I shook my head. “I’m going to stay back and catch up on my freelance work.”

“I’m still bloated from the beer we had last night,” Violet said.

“Guy’s trip!” Milo threw one arm over Riot’s shoulder, and the other over Cash’s. “We can gossip about sports and women. Like real men.”

“Real men wouldn’t call it gossip,” Riot pointed out. “Hold down the fort, ladies.”

When they were gone, I put my headphones on and got into a nice groove. I was behind on my commissioned pieces thanks to all the fun we’d been having. But that was a good problem to have.

Violet hung out at the back of the bus, but after an hour of work she came to the front and opened the mini-fridge. She held up abeer to me, and I removed my headphones in time to hear her ask, “Beer?”

“Yes please,” I said, accepting the can. It was a wheat beer with an orange on the label. “I thought you were too bloated for beer?”

“I only said that to avoid going out. The boys love me, but they still need their alone time.” She sank into one of the chairs and threw a leg over the armrest. “You seem like you’ve been working a lot in the past week.”

“I’m not complaining!” I replied. “Doing the band posters has driven a lot of traffic to my online store. I have enough commissions to last me until next summer. Much nicer than sitting around, refreshing my email, hoping for new work to come in.”

“Hell yeah. Glad you’re getting something out of it.” She touched her beer to mine in a toast. “Are you having fun? On the tour, I mean. And… you know. With them.”

The sparkle in her eyes told me what she meant.

“I’m having so much fun! I keep trying to take a step back and appreciate it all, because it’s going by fast. We only have, like, seven more cities before the tour’s over.”

Violet ran a hand through her hair. I could see the dark roots underneath the pink; she would need to dye it again soon. “Definitely savor it as much as you can. It was a hell of a ride when I was in your shoes. Don’t get me wrong; I love Dana and wouldn’t change anything. But being in a polycule with those three dorks was the time of my life. Milo likes to joke that I got enough dick with them to last a lifetime, which is the only reason I switched to women.”

I chuckled at that.

Violet took another sip. “Glad you’re enjoying it. Have the guys talked you into anal yet?”

I gave a start at the sudden, and blunt, change of subject. “Um. No. They haven’t mentioned it.”

She was taken aback by that. “Huh. Surprised they haven’t brought it up. They love it.” She smiled fondly.

Suddenly intrigued, I leaned forward and asked, “Doesn’t it hurt? I’ve never done it before.”

“Sometimes,” Violet said casually. “You’ve got to ease into it. Lube helps, obviously. It’s a different kind of pleasure. It’s definitely not for everyone.”

I nodded slowly while considering that.

“It’s especially great when it’s notjustanal,” she added.

“What do you mean?”

She smiled. I could tell she was enjoying this conversation. “When one of them is fucking you in the ass, and another cock is in your pussy at the same time. Double penetration.” She kissed her fingertips like a chef. “It’s the only thing I miss about hetero sex.”

“Is it really that good?”

“Girl, you haveno idea. It’s the most intense orgasm you can have. If you can handle it. You might not be able to.” She shrugged. “But it’s worth trying. Don’t jump right into that, though. You said you’ve never done anal, so start there and then work your way up. But don’t wait too long. Like you said, we’re on the back-end of the tour. Time’s running out.”

I thought about that while nursing my beer.

“Do you miss it?” I suddenly asked. “Being with men?”
