He nodded.

She flushed bright red. “God, howembarrassing.”

He shook his head and tucked a stray piece of auburn hair behind her ear. “I love how free you are with me. We are quite a pair, you and I.”

“We are?”

“Tammy, if you had something to compare this with, you’d know that we set the sheets on fire. I swear, you’re the best I ever had.”

She blushed further. “Perhaps it’s because you’re a great teacher.”

He laughed. “Really?”

“My God, Lance, look at you. You set the sheets on fire just being near them.”

“Flattery,” he chuckled. “Not only am I the Pied Piper of women, I’m a telekinetic sex pyromaniac.”

She laughed. “You accept it so easily. I like that about you.”

“I wish you would,” he scolded. His hand moved over her back to her bottom and back up again. “You are so fucking exquisite Tammy.”

She loved the feel of his hands on her. She loved his compliments. He was right though, she had problems accepting them. “I wasn’t raised with the confidence you have.”

“I know. But you should also know me enough by now. I don’t give compliments lightly.”

She smiled. “Thank you then.”

He leaned over and kissed her soundly. “I am crazy about you Tammy. I was the only one to ever know your body and I find myself very possessive over that. It throws me, you know.”

“You really know how to make me feel good about myself.”

He smacked her ass then and she squealed, then laughed.

“Get up. We have a wedding to plan. Tess and Elaina are going crazy wanting to help you. I promised them you would let them help today. It will help with your recovery.”

“I love you.”

“Nothing can compare to how that makes me feel.” He kissed her again.

CHAPTER EIGHT

Richard’s funeral was on a Saturday. Lance and Tammy flew back to New York to pay their respects. It had been several weeks since her accident and the pain was just a dull ache now.

Melanie was handling things well. Tammy was impressed at how strong her sister could be.

By the time they left New York, Tammy was actually at peace with everything that happened. Her family had never been closer with one another. They were on the plane back to Billings, and as usual, the stewardesses were tripping over themselves. Tammy was getting used to it, and what made it better was Lance’s attention was focused exclusively on her.

“Are you okay?” Lance squeezed her hand.

“Never better.”

“I’m glad to hear that.”

His expression changed and Tammy tilted her head. “What’s wrong?”

“Well, with all of the activity over the past few weeks, and a wedding to plan, I’ve barely been able to get my hands on you.”

She laughed. “God, I thought you were having second thoughts.”
