“You have plenty of time to try later.Afteryou’ve healed.”

“Wow, it’s amazing… I think I’m healed already! Full recovery,” I said, a small smile playing on my lips as I ran my hands over my body, hoping it enticed him enough to dive back into me.

Alek groaned. “Eva.You’re killing me. I can’t keep resisting you.”

“So thendon’t. I want you, you want me, and I’m healed enough to have you. What’s there to resist?”

He shook his head, but he was already settling himself atop me, fingers toying with the hem of the hospital gown. “There’s no rush. We have forever, baby.”

I leaned up and kissed him, smiling when he let me pull him back down. “So let’s start our forever now.”

June 21st

Jules

Do I have to sit by him, Evangeline?

Evangeline

Yes, you do. It’s my closing night, and you have to do what I say. You two are going to bond whether you like it or not.

Jules

I DON’T like it. I don’t like HIM. That’s the point.

Evangeline

So then learn to like him. Easy!

Jules

No.

Evangeline

He’s not going anywhere, Jules. Might as well accept that.

Aleksandr

No. I am not.

Evangeline

:)

My chest wastight as I stood backstage, preparing to walk on. It was the closing night forRomeo and Julietat the City Ballet Company theater.

Well, the new one.

Three months ago, this place had been filled with ash and ruin. Beams were charred, balconies had collapsed, and the grand chandelier had shattered upon the floor. It was a ghost of the place I once considered home.

Now, it was breathtaking.

The new Drakov Theater rose around us in gold and velvet, reborn into something even grander than before. The new chandelier scattered warm light like stardust, its crystals catching every light onstage. Freshly carved balconies curved along the walls, and the restored frescoes glowed softly overhead.
