“I mean, I’d love to have Cooper as a brother.” Nina laughs.

“No. Hell no.” I growl.

Cooper laughs. “I’m just messing with you.” He looks over at Nina. “You can have me as a brother. But instead of a step-brother, how about brother-in-law?” he says, then winks at me before joining our parents in the kitchen.

“Did he just say what I think he said?” I ask my sister, disbelief and excitement strumming through me.

“That he wants to marry you? Yeah, I’m pretty sure that's what he said.” Nina wraps an arm around my shoulder. “I mean, I couldn’t think of a better brother-in-law.”

It’s too soon to think about marriage. We’re just getting out of college. Our life is really just starting, isn’t it?

Still, the more I think about spending the rest of my life with Cooper, the more I know for a fact I want him for good. There’s no one else on this earth for me. I believe that with my whole being.

The rest of the Christmas break is spent hanging out with friends, sleepovers and cuddles.

He did manage to convince me to go back to the football house for some alone time, because most of the house was empty with everyone going home for the break. I’m glad I let him talk me into it. It might hurt to sit down, but god was it ever worth it.

Nothing will ever feel as good as Cooper’s cock buried deep inside of me.

For New Year’s, we go over to Ellie’s place and I share a midnight kiss with the love of my life, as we ring in the new year, surrounded by friends and positive vibes.

Normally, I dread the first day back to school after a break, but today I’m feeling good. Cooper’s back to football practice. I do as I normally do, sit in the stands and watch.

Just like always, my eyes are on Cooper. The way he runs, the strength he has when he tackles someone to the ground, and watching his arm flex as he tosses the ball back and forth with one of his teammates, may have me a little more aroused than I should be.

You can’t blame me, have you seen my boyfriend?

When practice wraps up, Cooper jogs over to me. He’s covered in sweat and dirt, yet still looks like a walking, wet dream.

“It might take me a little extra longer to get all this off me.” Cooper chuckles, running a hand through his messy, damp blond curls. “If you don't wanna wait for me, just head to your first class.”

“And miss breakfast?” I shake my head. “I’m good to wait for you.”

“You sure? These are some nasty grass stains.” He points to his calves and then holds up his arms. “Don’t worry, I hurt the grass more than it hurt me.” He winks.

“I’m sure it did.” I chuckle. “But yeah, I’m sure. I’ll just wait at the bench behind the locker room.”

“Okay. I’ll be as fast as I can.” He pulls me in for a quick kiss before jogging towards the locker room.

Grabbing my bags, I head in the same direction.

Not in any rush, I take my time heading over there, texting Davis and Rylee back in our chat. We’ve been updating one another on our Christmas holidays.

As I turn around the corner, I bump into someone.

“Shit, sorry. My ba—” I look up and come face to chest with a big body. Tilting my head back, my stomach drops when I see who it is.

Panic rises in me and I take a step back. I don’t get far because Mickey grabs my arm and yanks me roughly, shoving me up against the wall. My back hits it hard, almost knocking the breath from me.

“Let me go.” I hate how my voice shakes. But as he looms over me, that evil look in his eyes, I’m brought back to that time where I was nothing but a weak teenager who he loved to take his anger out on.

“You know, I don’t think I will.” His chuckle is cruel, just as malicious as his smile.

“What do you want with me, Mickey?” I swallow down my fear. Cooper is just on the other side of this wall. I might not be able to hurt him, but I can scream for help. I’ve never bothered to try and save myself before, because I knew no one would come to help me.

Now, I have someone who wouldn’t think twice about coming to my defense.
