“For you?” asked Alex.
“Yes…but I really need to…”
“I know…talk to us.” Running his hand through his short, cropped hair, Glenn sighed. “Okay, but can we at least let her in? She can sit in the living room while you tell us what’s so all-fired important.”
“Sure…that works.” Grabbing the doorknob, Sawyer opened the door, and said, “Won’t you come in Oracle?”
Chuckling, Oracle moved past Sawyer. “Do not worry so much, dear, all will be good with your mates.”
Taking a deep breath, Sawyer ignored the looks from his mates, shutting the door behind Oracle. “Uhm, Oracle…uhm…”
“I know dear. Go speak to your mates. I will be waiting for you,” Oracle said, moving to a chair in the living room. Sitting down, she looked over at the men, standing where she’d left them, each with stunned looks on their faces. “Sawyer, is something the matter? Do you not want to tell your mates about the Blackwood Pack?”
Glancing at his mates. Sawyer watched as two pair of eyes, filled with questions, sought his.Fuck, fuck, fuck. He wasn’t sure how deep a hole he was in with his mates, but it was time to climb out of it. After mumbling a small prayer to the gods, Sawyer hoped Oracle was right about everything being okay with his mates once they learned the truth. “Where can we…you know…talk privately?”
“Follow me,” Glenn said, grasping Alex’s hand before leading them back through the living room door to the safe room where Riley was glued to his computer screen. “Riley, Oracle’s in the living room.”
Fear bloomed in Riley’s eyes before he quickly closed them, grateful he hadn’t turned around when Glenn entered. Without looking up from his monitor, he asked, “Where are you going to be?”
“In the conference room. Call me if you need me.” Then, turning on his heels, Glenn strode through another doorway on the far side of the room and down a hallway, stopping when he reached a door. Turning to Sawyer, he asked, “Will this work? It’s private and no one will interrupt us.”
“Yeah…thanks.”
Grasping Sawyer’s hand, Alex asked, “Is this gonna be our first fight? If so, then we can have make-up sex, right?”
A burst of laughter erupted from Sawyer. “Make-up sex…I like that idea…what about you, Glenn?”
Lips twitching, Glenn opened the door, ushering his mates inside. “Make-up sex is always good.” Once everyone was seated, he turned to Sawyer. “Before you start, I already know about Dylon’s strength, Zane’s ability to walk through walls, and Cody’s ability to disappear.”
“What-t-t-t?” Shocked, Alex eyes ping-ponged between his two mates. “No way…not possible.”
Surprised, Sawyer looked at Glenn. “Did they tell you?”
“No. I was on a rooftop, checking out the building my mother was in when they arrived and Cody and Zane did their stuff. I knew Dylon was different because I was his instructor when he was younger…before he changed.”
“Wait a second,” Alex said, studying Glenn for a moment. “Oh my gods, you’re telling the truth!”
“Yeah, he is, but…” Sawyer said.
“Is this why you thought I’d be safer if I went to the Blackwood Pack?” asked Alex.
“That’s exactly why,” Glenn said. “But I’m guessing there’s more.”
Nodding, Sawyer began, starting with Colton's angel’s power to heal, then moving on to Logan’s gift of shapeshifting, Dakota’s shadow voice, the waves of solid energy Zane could use, along with his ghost walking. Continuing, he told them about Dylon’s power of Hercules, Kieran’s power of the Shaman, and David being the High Priest of the Paranormal world. Finally, he wrapped up with Fionn’s white dragon, Hunter’s White Knight and Remy’s all-powerful magic and Carson’s Mystic Guardian. When he finished, Sawyer looked down at the table. The room was silent.
Finally Glenn spoke. “But there’s more, isn’t there?” He didn’t know if he was right, but after years of watching people, and interrogating suspects, his gut told him Sawyer was holding something back.
“Sawyer?” Alex reached over, interlacing his fingers with his mate’s. “I love you. Do you still love me even though I’m not special?”
Quickly looking up at his mate, Sawyer squeezed his mate’s fingers. “Always!” he growled. “And you are special, so please don’t say that anymore.”
“And so are you,” Alex said, squeezing Sawyer’s fingers back.
“That means a lot,” Sawyer murmured.
“Good…then tell us the rest.”
Sighing, Sawyer explained about Jackson and Dakota’s Alpha/Omega status and what it meant. Then, taking a deep breath, he described Jackson’s Alpha power and what it could do.
