“What was that?” asked Jackson, grinning.

“Nothing…just forget I ever said that.”

“Hmm, maybe. Now what did you want to see me about?”

“You know Sawyer left to go surfing, right?”

“Yeah, what about it?” asked Jackson.

“Well…you see, I wrote this program and I told David about it, and I guess he told Quin…”

“What does the program do and how does it involve Sawyer?”

“It prevents anyone from tracking a person using their phone. Quin was worried about his brother being by himself, so he asked me to install it on Sawyer’s phone before he left,” Zane said.

“And I gather Sawyer doesn’t know you did it.”

“No…” Zane muttered, staring at the floor.

“I don’t see that as a big problem…I rather you told him about it before he left, but if all the program does is to prevent someone from doing something they shouldn’t be doing anyway, then…” Jackson paused, studying his brother’s posture, then asked, “What else does it do, Zane? Have you invaded his privacy?”

Jerking his head up, Zane said, indignantly, “No, I would never do that, Jackson…you gotta believe me…no way, no how.”

“Then what’s the problem?”

“Someone is trying to track Sawyer. I got a notice this morning…that’s what it also does…it sends me a notice when an attempt is made…and someone has been trying to use Sawyer’s phone to find him!”

Sitting up quickly, Jackson thought for a moment before asking, “Do you know who it is?”

“Not yet…whoever it is, well he’s a professional because he’s using sophisticated software to hide his identity…I mean like high tech spy stuff.”

“Can you…”

“Yeah, I can but it’ll take time. That’s why I wanted to let you know…in case you wanted to do something in the meantime,” Zane said.

“Thanks,” Jackson replied, tapping out messages to several people. “Keep me informed as to your progress.”

“Will do.”

Glancing up at his brother, Jackson asked, “I know others can’t, but can you track Sawyer’s phone?”

“Yeah, I built that in just in case we needed to do it. I checked right before I came to see you and Sawyer is at the campground he told Mason he was going to.”

Hearing his phone ding, announcing a message, Jackson nodded. “Good to know.” Then he started typing a response.

Realizing his brother was finished with him, Zane rose and headed down to his computer lab, hoping he’d find the answer soon.

“Oh my gods! This is so good!” Alex exclaimed as he scraped the last remaining food off his plate.

“Do you want some more?” asked Sawyer, scooping out more of Theo’s egg casserole.

“If it’s okay,” Alex replied, smiling shyly at his mate. “I mean… are you sure you don’t want it for later?”

“Nope,” Sawyer said, putting several large spoonful’s on Alex’s plate. “My freezer is full so you’re really doing me a favor by helping me eat it up.”

“Your brother did this for you?”
