Shaking his head, Glenn replied. “She wanted to speak to Sawyer, Alex and me. Her son is mated to Sawyer’s cousin, Jackson. He’s head of the Blackwood Pack. I swear to you, Ghost, she never even mentioned Riley’s name.”
“How did she know you all were here?”
“She’s a fuckin’ Oracle…I don’t know…maybe the fuckin’ Fates told her. What’s your problem? Riley’s safe.”
“What did she want to talk about?”
“Not about him,” Glenn snapped. “It only had to do with my mates and myself.” Kicking himself for his reaction, he took a deep breath, knowing if he didn’t calm down, Alex would sense it. Closing his eyes, he murmured, “Ghost…she didn’t see Riley and I didn’t mention him to her. Give me some fuckin’ credit.”
“See, I would…if I felt you were tellin’ me everything. But you’re not…so givemesome fuckin’ credit. An Oracle doesn’t just show up every time a shifter finds their mate.” Holding his hand up to stop any response from Glenn, he continued, “Or mates in this case. This place isn’t on anyone’s radar so forgive me if I’m freakin’ out slightly.”
“Fine…remember what I said about the members of the Blackwood Pack I saw in New York?”
“Yeah, one could turn invisible, another could…holy shit! She was here about that?”
“Yeah. Sawyer and me…we both received gifts from the Fates…and Alex…well, she told him why he has two mates,” Glenn said, relieved he’d finally leveled with Ghost. “I planned on telling you and Smokey once my mates’ agreed. So till that happens, keep your trap shut. No one must know…and I mean no one, Ghost.” Looking into his friend’s eyes, Glenn said, “I want your word on this.”
“Asshole…like you even have to ask,” Ghost replied. “I’ll keep my trap shut, don’t worry.”
“Regarding Riley,” Glenn said, “My mates and I will be driving up to the Blackwood Pack. The plan is to leave Alex’s trailer and Sawyer’s motorhome parked there while we’re in France. I intend to do some snooping around about the Oracle that was here today since according to Sawyer, she lives there. If I find out what my gut tells me about her, she may be willing to help us with Riley.”
“In what way?” asked Ghost.
“I don’t know yet…it was something she said about our powers…it made me think the Oracle who’s after Riley isn’t acting on behalf of the Fates.”
“And…c’mon, Snow White, you gotta give me more than that.”
“Think about it…wouldn’t the Fates tell the Oracle who’s after Riley where he is…if shewasacting on their behalf?”

Sitting on his favorite bench under the rose covered arbor, Brady was lost in thought. Ever since Mystia left, any hope of finding peace with his roses was gone, so in frustration, he retreated to the far corner of his garden, There, Brady vacillated between anger at his friend and anger at himself for even considering her request. But it’s not a request is it, Brady? No, it’s not…my friend was begging me to help…but you don’t have to, do you, Brady? But she never asked anything of me before…and that’s how it should be; friends shouldn’t use friendship to make others do things they don’t want to do. But, Brady, that’s not entirely true…friends can ask friends for help…but who helped you when they stripped you of your livelihood? Where were your so-called friends then? Only Mystia helped me…
“Brady?”
Startled, Brady looked in the direction of the voice, rising when he saw who was approaching him. “Oracle.”
“Hello, dear. How are you?”
“Fine,” sighed Brady. “I haven’t…”
“My goodness,” Oracle murmured, looking at the roses, “you certainly have a green thumb…your garden is lovely.”
“Thank you, I like it.” Frowning, Brady gave in, knowing Oracle wouldn’t leave until she revealed whatever brought her to his place. “Would you like a cup of tea?”
“I would love one.”
Leading the way to his cottage, Brady looked over his shoulder, saying, “How’s Maximus…and your boys?”
“Right now, he is probably playing with his grandpup.”
Spinning on his heels, he faced his guest, smiling. “You guys have a grandpup? How wonderful!”
“Yes, my oldest found his mate and they gave us our first grandpup…Daniel Maximilian.”
“You must be so happy.”
“We are…Daniel is the light of our lives. And our youngest and his mate are also expecting…so we are looking forward to another member of the family.”
