“I have one other thing…and this will also impact you.”

“Great…you’re just a barrel of fun today,” smirked Hunter. “Lay it on me.”

“Mac has ordered Dakota to bed because of low blood pressure…”

“Will he be all right? What about the pup?” asked Hunter, anxiously.

“He and the pup will be fine, provided Dakota follows Mac’s orders…but that leaves me without a cook. I was looking to hire a temporary one but, so far, no luck. I remember you saying Mason could cook.”

“He can, and he’s quite good…nothing like Dakota, of course, just a lot of what I call comfort food.”

“That’s perfect…I thought he and Steel could cook on alternate days and, of course, Theo would assist each of them, as he does now.”

“I don’t have a problem with it…do you want me to ask him?” asked Hunter.

“That would be great…however, what do you plan to tell him when he asks what’s wrong with Dakota? And by the way, Quin knows about Dakota’s pregnancy. Theo let the secret out of the bag.”

“Then Mase knows or he will know very shortly,” Hunter groaned. “Of course, Mase is also a member of the Blackwood Pack but I’d hoped any discussion of secrets would wait until I got back and found out what my brothers wanted to do.”

“Still want to volunteer to ask him?” teased Jackson. “Given that Quin knows about Kota, I think I should approach Mason first, so if he brings it up, I can explain a modified version to him, then you can follow up.”

“That makes sense…and then he and I can discuss what must be done in the company to free up some time for him.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

“Anything else? How’s Aunt Hope?”

“Making progress. Cody, Dylon and Zane found her friend and brought her back here. She intends to file a witness report with the High Council, so that shit should be over soon.”

“Will you take over the Silver Point Pack?”

“Not planning to. The Blackwood Pack is more than enough for me. Why do you ask?”

“Josiah will be removed as their Alpha and I expect the High Council will give you the Silver Point pack lands and all of their assets as compensation.”

“Fuck, that would mean I either absorb the Silver Point pack members into my pack, or what…make them homeless?” asked Jackson.

“That about sums it up,” Hunter said.

“Shit, neither works for me,” murmured Jackson. “Maybe I can work out a payment plan.”

“Possible, but they still need an Alpha.”

“My cousin, Kahn could take over…provided he didn’t know what his father was planning. He’s Josiah’s heir apparent.”

“That might work…though I highly doubt he didn’t know something about it,” Hunter said.

“You’re probably right. Well, I don’t have to deal with that problem yet,” replied Jackson. “And, if you don’t have any other cheerful news for me…”

“Nope,” Hunter chuckled. “Shoot me a text after you talk to Mase.”

“Will do, bye.”

After hanging up, Hunter rose, heading for the kitchen. Fionn might not feel like eating, but it was better to be prepared. Humming to himself, he quickly made ten roast beef sandwiches, added some bags of chips and gathered up bottles of water and juice. It would, at least, keep both of them from getting hungry. Packing everything up, Hunter sent a text to Carson, explaining everything before heading upstairs to dress and get his sleeping mate. It was going to be a long day tomorrow, but he was thankful his mate’s dragon fire didn’t bother him.

Entering their bedroom, Hunter grinned at his mate who hadn’t moved, wondering if Fionn would wake up when he was upended over Hunter’s shoulder. Chuckling quietly, he gathered a set of clothes then, on second thought, doubled it just in case the first set was scorched by his mate’s fire snorts. When everything was ready, Hunter spoke the words his mate had given him and the portal appeared. Hefting Fionn over his shoulder, he grabbed the bag of food and clothes and stepped in.
