I nodded like a bobblehead, painfully aware that I was still holding his hand. “Huge, since the early days. Did you know they used to have a different bassist?” I blurted.
“You know all that huh? Superfan?” He grinned, squeezing my hand.
“I promise I'm not talking to you to get backstage! I just uh… um.”
“Relax Blake. I don’t think that at all.” He chuckled. “I’d like to hearwhyyou're talking to me, though.” He winked again.
I was a puddle in his hand. “Well, you know… they say make friends with security, and they help if something happens.”
“Blake, I would give my life for you.”
Something about the way he said it and the heavy look in his eyes had me believing him. Even though we had just met, I knew full well that this man would do anything for me.
Chapter four
Ethan
So, this is where she was going?
She was even more beautiful up close. I’d been watching her for months but never dared to talk to her. Now, here she was, making the first move, talking to me. I meant what I said. I’d give my life before I let anyone hurt her again. Was blurting it like that the coolest move though? Probably not. Watching her fumble with her words as she talked to me had me falling deeper for her. Not to mention, she knew the band back when I was a part of it. Blake was my fan too. That thought had me half-hard in my pants. If only I could touch her more, feel her in my hand, get her scent closer. I wanted to be swallowed whole by everything she was. My goddess, my sun. If she was my sun, did that make Mal my moon?
“I…haha, I doubt that.” She bit her lip again. “Do you work with them often?”
“Not in a while. I’m helping out as a favor to a friend.”
“Well, I’m glad your friend called you.” She blushed. “Y- you know because…”
“Because I got to meet you.” I supplied, still holding her hand. I wish I never had to let her go. Her hand was so soft, like velvet. She bit her lip and slowly pulled her hand away to play with her hair. Her nervous habit that I found adorable.
“Maybe after the show I can introduce you to the band? Masks on, of course.”
“Really?” She asked, her eyes brightening, and she did a little bounce. “You could do that?”
“Of course.” I winked.
“I’d love that. I really like Malvor’s voice. It's so dreamy.” She said and covered her mouth.
I couldn’t help but smile. “Yeah, his voice really is.” I thought it was dreamy, too. My phone buzzed, and I checked it. Speak of the devil. “Find me after the show, and I’ll take you back. Go get a good view for the show, Rosebud.”
“Rosebud?” She asked.
“I thought it fit you,” I said, wanting to kiss her.
“See you.” She waved before running off to find a good spot as the opener started.
Chapter five
Malcolm
Irecognized her instantly from her photo on fan forums. Roseluver28 was her username, and the green in her hair was new. She’d done it two weeks ago if memory serves. I used to think she was beautiful and wanted to know more about her. I’d secretly been IMing her for months. Right now, though, watching her flirt with Ethan and seeing him flirt back. The way both of them smiled at each other. I wanted to ruin her pretty face. How? I wasn’t sure yet. Texting him was petty, but it got his attention off her. It was a simple text, too, but it worked and meant I still had a piece of him. Even if he didn’t want me, he was still mine.I need you
That was the text. Three little words, and he was shooing her away and coming to me. “Okay, Mal?” He asked, looking around.
“Better now.” I purred happily behind my mask.
He gave me a dry look. “You said you needed me.”
“I do. Pre-show jitters.” I shuddered. “You make it better. I was hoping you could give me my old good luck charm?” I asked.
