“Oh.” She looked a bit confused as her whiskey eyes looked me over, taking me in before looking back at Ethan like she had no idea who I was.

The fuck?

“This is my childhood friend, Malcolm.”

Oh shit. Right, she's never seen my face.

“Nice to meet you.” I said, holding out my hand for her. When she took it I brought her knuckles to my lips, giving them a gentle kiss.

She giggled, fuckhow I loved that sound.

Ethan put a hand on my shoulder in what seemed like a friendly gesture but his grip was punishing.Jealous bastard.

“He's going to be staying with me for a while so I'm showing him around town. I didn't know you came here.”

Liar. Of course you knew. Stalker. Wait… “I'm staying with you?”

“Like you don't remember.” He chuckled, squeezing harder. “You're in town for a while.”

“Right.” I grimaced.

“I come everyday.” Blake smiled and turned to me. “If you like matcha, they have a really yummy one with strawberry cold foam here.”

“I'm a black coffee guy.” I shook my head. “Bugsy though, lovessweets.” I smiled.

“Stop with the nickname. We're not twelve.”

“I think it's cute.” Blake smiled, swaying happily.

“See, it's cute.” I teased.

“I'll end you.” He whispered lowly in my ear, making me shiver.

“You keep saying that.” I hummed and ordered my black coffee along with Blake's recommendation for Ethan. “Blake, go ahead and order too, let us treat you.” I said.

“Really?” She gasped, rocking onto the balls of her feet.

Ethan tracked her movement and so did I. She hurt her ankle yesterday. She shouldn't be doing that, it could reinjure. I wasn't supposed to know her though so I couldn't say anything.

“Yeah, let us take care of you.” Ethan said, wrapping an arm around her waist, pulling her in. I didn't miss the way she shuddered, and her face flushed or the shy timid smile and I doubt he did either. “How's the ankle?”

“O- okay." She stuttered. “Not too bad. Feels pretty good today. Still a little swollen but the pain isn't too bad.”

She is so fucking cute.

“Hurt ankle? Let Bugsy take a look, he's good with that sort of thing.” I said as she took my spot to order.

She ordered the same as Ethan, and I paid before E even had the chance.

Let me spoil you both.

He glared at me as we went to wait for our order and I just smiled brightly. I used my black card, call it a company expense.

“Care to sit with us, or do you have to go?” I asked, handing her drink when it was ready.

“Thanks. I have to go. I wish I could stay though. Um, rain check on you checking my ankle?” She said, our fingers brushing as she took the sweet treat from me and looked at E.

“Let me give you my number. Text me when you want me to look it over, the three of us can meet up again.”
