“And my dad.”
Salat laughed as he walked in.“And your dad.Sorooth is no slouch either. He is possibly one of the greatest psychics in Sethir history.”
Kessie smiled.“I know.Grandma Lia is very proud.Grandma Nelith and Grandpa Dmitri are proud of Mom as well.”
Salat grinned.“They really are.Dmitri is posting the statue of all his manifestations changing from one to the other, everywhere. He’s super proud.”
Kessie smiled.“I know.”
Hemma looked at him.“I am really sorry for all the fuss.”
Salat shook his head.“It was really no trouble.I am sorry that it happened to you.”
“One of the nosey buttheads was bound to try it sometime. At least help was available.Thank you, Vallu.”
“It was the least I could do after leaving you there with him.”
“You couldn’t have known.”
“I should have. You were nervous. You don’t seem the nervous type.”
Hemma shrugged.“I am generally not.”
Kessie nodded.“Mom said she has nerves of steel.”
Hemma stroked her hair.“Working for her is fun.”
Salat smiled.“Are you good to travel?”
Hemma nodded.
They said their goodbyes to Vallu and Etgar. The alphas had gone off to the other side of the island.Back in the car, they headed for the private ferry that the Daycrosses were lending them.
It was time to head home.
