Chapter Twelve

Afew weeks later,Gideon pulled Jessica into his arms as they both fought to catch their breath. The sex just seemed to get better and better, and he couldn’t get enough of his mate.

When they had settled their heartbeats, he turned her to face him.“Do you want a big wedding?”

She looked surprised.“I know you said something about that before, but I thought we were going to wait.”

“No.I’d rather not.We both know we’ll spend the rest of our lives together.Have you ever thought about what you want your wedding to look like?”

“No,” she said, smiling.“I was never that girl who had everything chosen before I even got engaged. The smaller, the better.”

He slid his hand up and down her side, over her hips to her outer thigh, and back again.“What would you think about flying to Vegas this weekend and getting married?”

“This weekend?”she gasped.

“Yes.What are we waiting for?”he asked.

He watched her think about it for a moment before she looked up at him.

“Nothing, I guess. Is there anything we need to do?”

He shook his head.“No.”

“I’ll do it if I can have one thing.”

He could tell by the grin on her face that she was up to mischief.“What?”

“I want Elvis to marry us.”

Gideon laughed until tears came to his eyes.Damn, he loved his mate. She was absolutely perfect for him.

“You got it.I’ll have our pilot get the plane ready, and we’ll leave on Saturday morning. We’ll get married that afternoon and then take a quick honeymoon in one of their luxury suites. We’ll take a longer one later. So, think about where you want to go.”

“I think that’s a good plan.”

“We need to get you a dress,” he said.“Do you want to wait until we get to Vegas to find one or go shopping here?”

“I actually have one that I think will work very well.”

“Can I see it?”he asked.

“No.You’ll see it when I walk down the aisle to you.”

He chuckled.“It will drive me crazy, but I’ll be patient.”Jesus, he was an idiot. He just thought of something he should have done a while ago.“Hold on.”He rolled out of bed and walked to his desk.He pulled the box he’d had in a drawer since he met her and carried it back to the bed.

He lifted her hand.“I want to do this the right way.Baby, will you marry me and live with me for the rest of our lives?”

“Yes,” she whispered and then gasped when he pulled out a four-carat round diamond ring with small diamonds on the band.“Gideon, this is beautiful.”

He smiled.“I’m glad you like it.I bought it the day after I found you.”

She smiled and lifted her left hand to admire the ring.

Gideon pressed his lips to the top of her head.“If we’re going to go away in a few days, I’ve got some things to take care of.”

“That’s fine.I’ll be here at home.I want to keep working on the garden,” she said.
