Unknowingly, I had trapped the I pendant on my necklace between my fingers.
Nathanial threw a punch, I think a cross as Indiri called it. It missed. Indiri ducked, then sent a glove into Nathanial’s ribcage. He maintained a certain closeness. Nathanial attempted to back up but Indiri closed every gap.
“He’s running like a bitch. After talking all of that mess in the media.” Jordyn’s voice flowed into my ear.
I giggled, still locked on my man.
Nathanial threw a wild left.
It missed completely and Indiri took advantage.
He slipped the punch.
Then sent a left hook into Nathanial’s body.
His knees buckled.
Indiri followed up with a right hook to the head, sending Nathanial to the floor quickly.
The crowd erupted and the referee began to count.
Chapter
Twenty
Indiri
I smiled the moment he grabbed the rope, attempting to regain his footing in the middle of the ref’s counting. I would’ve been pissed had he not gotten up because there was absolutely no way he’d talked shit for months straight to fall this easily. No way.
Unc was in my ear while I watched the ref check him out.
When the ref nodded, I got up on my feet. I watched Knockout put his gloves to his side and stumble a bit but then he began to jump, hiding the pain he was already in.
Bet.
The bell rang and we stepped up.
Right out of the gate, he swung a reckless left.
That was his only work.
I ducked, crossed, sent and connected an uppercut to his jaw.
He fell back against the ropes.
I stepped up, raining body shots. Sure to make contact with that tender side he seemed to keep leaving open.
That did something to him because he leaned forward, attempting to hug me.
Bitch ass.
The ref broke the lock up seconds later.
The moment we were at the center, he tried that tired ass left again.
It slid off my back.
I slid, delivered a liver shot, another to the other side, then an uppercut.
