“You straight over here?” Zoo and Sin walked up on me, passing me a shot.
“I’m good. Just admiring you and all this happiness. You deserve it that’s for sure.”
“Hell yea, I do. The way you looking at Bri, I would think you about to do the same.”
Instead of replying to Sin, I tossed my shot back.
“We were supposed to do that shit together, my nigga. Now you gotta take another one and wait on us.”
“Zoo tryin to get yo’ ass fucked up,” Sin added.
“I already know. I’m not about to be cuttin’ up with him tonight. This is yo’ day, and he already know that clear shit makes me nut up.”
“Shiiid, water will make you do that so that doesn’t even matter.”
“Water is clear, right?” I shot back at Zoo.
“You right, I thought you were talking about liquor though. Anyway, fuck you. Always trying to correct somebody. Patron or water, either way you’ve always been a fucked-up person but you hide that shit well. Out of the three of us, the quiet one is the main person these muthafuckas should be scared of. They be thinking yo’ ass on somelet's get alongtype shit. Hol’ time, you gon’ be the first one to get the strap and ask questions neva.”
Zoo was right.
“I’m wit' you when you right,” Sin chimed in.
“Ay, give this nigga another shot.” Zoo gestured for the waitress to come over, and she came prancing, grinning all in his face. I’on know about Zoo, but my eyes looked around the room to see if PJ was seeing this shit, too. When I saw her walking over, I tried to shoo ol’ girl off.
“Thank you, sweetheart. Stick around, we gon’ need some more of these. It’s a celebration.”
“Don’t let that sweetheart word get you fucked up.”
Instead of tossing my shot back, I sipped on this one so I could see how Zoo was going to get out of this shit.
“I was just being polite.”
“Go back to being mean. She’s grinning too hard for my liking.” PJ looked the waitress up and down, meanwhile I was wondering why her dumb ass was still standing there.
“Um, yo’ ass is dismissed and this one don’t need no more shots.” Swatting her away, PJ walked off and went back over to where Bronx and Naomi stood.
“Daaamn, she told yo’ ass.”
“Nigga, all I heard was pussy talking. She can cut up on any bitch in this restaurant as long as she throwing that shit back on me later. I’m trying to pull a Sin and knock Pen up soon.”
Shaking our heads at Zoo, we then toasted to Sin and Naomi’s engagement. The guys walked off to get their women, and I stayed back, admiring Bronx from afar. She casually walkedaround, talking to people, unfazed by anything that was going on around her.
Tonight, she wore this backless fitted black dress we found at Macy’s. Her hair was down and straight, covering up most of what could be seen in the back. Anybody else would have pinned their hair up just to show the back of their dress off. Those bitches lacked the class that Bronx possessed, and I constantly reminded her that she was in a class of her own. Some men liked women who bared it all, I didn’t and I loved how Bri didn’t have to do much and was still one of the most beautiful women I’d ever seen.
Seeing her smile had me thinking back to the time she cooked for me and almost burn everything down.
“Dinner will be ready at seven, so don’t be late. You’ve been in the studio all day long, and I know you haven’t stopped to eat at all.”
“Shawty, I’ll be there on time. If you miss me and can’t wait for me to get there then just say that.”
“I’m hungry, baby, so please just hurry up, and I do miss you a little bit. It’s been a whole twenty-six hours, forty-five minutes, and fifteen seconds since I’ve seen you.”
“Bronx, we are on Facetime right now.”
“Fuck Facetime, I wanna be on your face this time and you are takin’ forever.”
“Yea aight, play with something safe, baby. You think this dick is something to play with but it’s gon’ have you in love more than you already are. Stick to cuddling and pressing ya ass against me to get yo’ feel because once we get it cracking, it’s a wrap for any other nigga. They gon’ be sliding they dick in and it’s gone feel like they shit is being thrown down an empty hallway.
