Somehow, I ended up off the counter and up against a wall.
“Shit, Pen!”
Zoo slid me up and down his dick with his head thrown back and eyes closed in ecstasy as my body hugged him impossibly tight. I clawed at his shoulders and gasped.
“Yeesss!” I wasn’t sure how to describe the way I melted all over him. From the top of my head to the tips of my toes, and all in my insides, I melted for this man.
“Fuck!” he roared. It took forever for us to come down. His head rested on my shoulder, and he still had me up against the wall.
“Let’s hop back in the shower,” he said, but didn’t make a move towards the shower.
Giggling, I replied, “That sounds like a setup.”
“It is.”
Just when I thought Zoo and I were about to start all over under the hot spray of the shower, the doorbell rang.
ZOO
On the deck, Sin, Brooklyn, and I sparked up, filling the air with the finest scent. I needed this blunt after fucking the life out of Pen. A nigga was drained, full, and ready to call it a night, so that I could cuddle with my woman.
The life I had before Pen was a distant memory. The bitches I fucked before her were an even more distant memory. I couldn’tsee myself anywhere but where I was at this present moment, chilling with my cousins, thinking about the day we all had on the beach, enjoying life.
Friendships were one thing but having a bond with two people was another subject. Friendships could come and go, sour, and disband. Bonds could never be broken, not with the living. A bond was forever. That’s the relationship I had with my cousins and now Pen.
“I bought the ring,” Sin spoke.
Brooklyn chuckled. “Of course, you did.”
Sin blew out a lungful of smoke and grinned.
“How does it feel?” I asked. Two sets of eyes darted my way.
“What you thinkin’ about? Getting married?” Brooklyn’s voice carried across the yard.
“I’m sure they heard that,” Sin grumbled, referring to the women in the house.
I shrugged. “What other step is there after finding the one you wanna be with?”
Crickets and frogs were the only things sounding off as Sin and Brooklyn stared at me.
“You put some coke in this shit? I must be high as fuck,” Brooklyn said, ashing his blunt.
Sin and I busted out laughing.
“How the nigga that claimed he didn’t want love, end up in love beforeme?” he ranted.
“Oh, so you’re not in love with ol’ girl?” Sin questioned.
Brooklyn faltered. “Nigga, you know what I mean. How the nigga that swore he wasn’t gon’ ever be settled down end up settled like a muhfucka?”
“‘Cause I found a woman that I couldn’t be without. She made mewanther. She made me desire to be with her on a level that wasn’t physical. I can chill with Pen and not onceonlythink about fuckin’ her. I think about if she’s okay, if she’scomfortable, if she’s hungry, if she’s upset. I really think about her in ways I’ve never thought about any woman. If it’s one thing I’m not, it’s stupid. I’m not gon’ sleep on what I got with Pen.”
“Fuck, mane.” Brooklyn sighed. “Y’all niggas finna really leave me outchea by my-damn-self? I wanna get married, too, hell.”
“The fact that you stepped away from the studio for shawty says you ain’t too far off, my boy,” Sin chimed.
“I can tell she needs time, though. I’ve made it clear that I wanna be with her, but I’m not gon’ put pressure on her when she just got done dealing with that fuck nigga.”
