She gripped his shoulders and nodded again.

“Beautiful girl,” he told her reverently, dipping his head to her breast and licking her nipple, dragging his tongue down her belly, teasing her navel before he finally circled her clit.

Unable to stand it, Meggie screamed, pleasure washing over her in wave after wave that left her trembling.

He moved his mouth away, lifted her onto all fours and wrapped her hair around his hand, tugging her head back and burying his cock, balls deep inside of her.

Her pussy clenched around him and his groan vibrated through her. She pushed against him, tilted her ass in a way that allowed her to rub her clit against his nuts, timing her backward thrusts to his forward motion.

When he released her hair, gripped her hips, and covered her body with his, Meggie neverwanted to leave her husband’s arms. She was open and vulnerable and never more in love with Christopher than she was at that moment.

He poured into her as she came apart at the seams, both of them sated for now. Falling to her side, he drew her into his arms and kissed her tenderly.

“You remember we goin’ to Celia’s?” he asked her, long minutes later.

She nodded. “Yeah. Hopefully, we finally get some answers.”

He tightened his hold on her and kissed her temple, a signal that something troubled him.

“What is it?”

“I don’t even fuckin’ know where to start, baby.”

Panic stole Meggie’s contentment. “Is someone else dead?”

Christopher tensed.

“Oh my God!” She tried to sit up but Christopher wouldn’t release her. “Who?”

“Nobody. Derby just a motherfucker, Megan,” he said, and told her that he’d had Gypsy cremated.

Meggie couldn’t do anything but cry while Christopher held her.

“I’m so fuckin’ sorry, baby,” he told her, stroking her hair. “I wish the motherfucker woulda just turned her fuckin’ body over to us. We woulda done her justice.”

“We would have,” Meggie said around a sob. “Poor Gypsy! She didn’t deserve to be treated…”

She buried her face against Christopher’s chest and cried for all the times she’d never get to spend with Gypsy. All their lost moments and celebrations they’d never again share. They’d had their fair share of arguments over the years, but Meggie always hoped Gypsy would find happiness one day. And maybe she had. Maybe she’d crossed over into a better place, left her hurt and suffering behind.

“We can still do a memorial service for her at the club, yeah?” Christopher murmured, holding her tight.

“Okay,” Meggie said in a watery voice. “I’m so sorry, Christopher. I know we already talked about her and—”

His kiss halted her. “And I know I already fuckin’ said I thought she was a stupid bitch, but that ain’t meant she deserve that motherfucker’s disrespect, especially now. And it definitely don’t mean I ain’t gonna hold you while you remember her. She was your friend, Megan. You grievin’, and that’s okay. Grief take time.” He thumbed away her tears and kissed her again. “I won’t even invite Derby. The brothers wanted to do something for her anyway.”

Meggie liked that idea. This time, she kissed Christopher. “Thank you for always being my rock.”

“Just like you mine, baby, and that ain’t a fuckin’ lie.”

She nodded. “Why don’t we shower so we can round up the kids and—”

“About Bash,” Christopher started, releasing his tight grip on her but still keeping her in his arms. “He a motherfucker. Especially to chicks. Celia cookin’ and shit, so that mean at some point, he’s gonna interact with you and the rest of the girls. You might not like how he talk but just tune him the fuck out. They got the fuckin’ peace agreement. Now Ima tie up loose ends and that’s fuckin’ it.”

Not liking the sound of that, Meggie frowned.

“My fuckin’ point is, we goin’ to hear the DNA test results, get answers like you said, and come the fuck home. If Bash refer to a girl as a cunt, shut the fuck up and call him a cunt back in your head.”

She was emotional and so was Christopher. Besides, she’d already decided she’d convince Christopher not to resign during the belated anniversary trip.
