‘You said you wanted a passionate kiss, so I was just delivering on the brief,’ I said, my breath ragged and my knees weak.

‘Youmorethan delivered.’ He stroked my cheek.

A wide, satisfied grin spread across my face.

‘Should we get a drink?’ I suggested.

‘Er, yes, but I need a minute.’ His gaze dropped between his legs.

‘Bloody hell.’ My eyes popped. I’d felt the rod pressed against me, but somehow seeing it jutting from his pelvis was even more imposing. With the fairy lights illuminating the beach, there was no way people wouldn’t notice that. ‘Yeah, probably a good idea…’

Once Ben was sure that his weapon had sufficiently deflated, we walked away hand in hand.

We’d only taken a few steps before Trent appeared in front of us.

‘That was unnecessarily explicit,’ he scolded.

‘What was?’ I cocked my head innocently.

‘What you two were doing just now. No one needed to see you dry humping him or scavenging for his breakfast with your tongue down his throat. That kind of behaviour should be left for the bedroom.’

The funny thing was that, although we’d started kissing to put on a performance, by the time Ben’s lips were on mine, I’d completely forgotten about Trent and Esme and everything else. I was too busy enjoying myself. And even when we’d finished, for some strange reason it hadn’t even occurred to me to see who was watching. If my parents saw my shameless display, they’d probably pass out. But I couldn’t help myself.

And anyway, I was an adult, so they’d just have to deal with it.

‘Not that it’s any of your business, but that’s actually a great suggestion! Thanks! What d’you think, Ben? Shall we continue in the bedroom?’ I said.

‘I’d love that, very much.’ He wrapped his arm around my waist, sending a rush of heat straight to my core. ‘Let’s go.’

Trent, on the other hand, looked so furious he might combust.

‘Enjoy the rest of your evening.’ I smiled sweetly before taking Ben’s hand and leading him inside the hotel.

Just as we turned the corridor towards the lift, Ben stopped, pushed me against the wall and slammed his mouth onto mine.

Fuck.

He was so good at this.

‘But there’s no one out here,’ I said after he pulled away, still trying to catch my breath. ‘You don’t have to.’

‘That wasn’t for your ex or sister to see. That was forme. BecauseIwanted to. The way you’ve handled yourself today with such grace and restraint is admirable. I could never be so composed if…’ His voice trailed off and I wondered why. ‘What I’m trying to say is, you did it. You got through one ofthe most challenging days of your life and I’m incredibly proud of you. You have no idea how much of a turn-on it is to see your confidence. So yeah, that kiss wasn’t fake. I did it for real because I think you’re so fucking sexy, Sarah.’

I swallowed hard.

If I wasn’t already insanely attracted to Ben, those words he’d just uttered sealed the deal.

There was something about hearing him call me sexy that just did it for me.

I wanted him to keep talking.

‘How sexy?’ I challenged.

‘Sexy enough that I’m finding it hard to control myself.’

‘Yeah?’ I ran my hand over his chest. God, it felt so firm. I desperately wanted to feel his bare skin underneath. ‘If you could choose, what would happen right now?’

‘If I had my way, I’d take you upstairs and fuck you so hard that you wouldn’t be able to walk properly for days,’ Ben growled.
