“That’s it, Niki,” Hikaru purred into my ear. “You’re so in control all the time. It’s time to let go. It’s time to release some of that tension. Mmm…just like that. You’re doing so well.”
My hips bucked forward. Gaia, Hikaru wasn’t even touching my skin and he had my dick rock hard, my balls pulled up tight. I was going to come in my pants like a barely legal warlock, and the amazing thing was, I couldn’t have cared less. All I wanted, all I needed, was for Hikaru to keep going.
“You’re so beautiful like this, Niki. So powerful. The magic loves your desire. It’s feeding on it. I wish you could see how happy it is, how euphoric. Give the magic what it wants. Give yourself what you want. Come for me, Niki. Come now,” Hikaru growled.
Those words sent me stumbling over the edge. With a grunted shout of pleasured release, I came inside my underwear without Hikaru once touching actual flesh. I should have been embarrassed. I should have pushed him away and stormed from the room. I did neither. Instead, I slumped with relief, Hikaru’s arms the only thing keeping me from crumbling to the floor. For such a slight figure, Hikaru was incredibly strong.
“Oh, Niki…” Hikaru’s fingers swept through my sweat-dampened bangs, pushing them away from my panting face. “That was so much better than even I imagined, and trust me, I can imagine a lot.”
Of that, I had little doubt. My brain felt like mush, much like the rest of my body. There were so many problems I needed tobe concerned with, and yet I couldn’t muster the energy to worry about a single one.
“There you are. That’s better.” Hikaru’s fingers traveled from my hair to my chest, resting against my languid heartbeat. “I told you I was good for you.” Soft kisses peppered my temple, easing down my cheek, and finishing on my exposed collarbone. “Next time, I’d like to try that with a little less clothing between the two of us.”
Soft chuckles eased their way up my throat, floating around the kitchen in a haze of lazy mirth. “Next time? A little presumptuous of you, don’t you think?”
“It’s not presumptuous when it’s a sure thing. Trust me, Niki, there will be many, many, many morenext times.”
My heart fluttered, obviously pleased with the idea. “Well, those times will have to wait. I’m not as young of a warlock as I once was.” Without the aid of a charm, my biology dictated rest between orgasms. Speaking of which… “What about you, I?—”
“Oh, I’m very satisfied.” I could feel the wet spot in Hikaru’s pants when he pushed his groin into my hip. “I suppose I should have dissociated my clothing before coming, but I’m afraid I was a little too far gone to consider it. Besides, there’s something extra naughty about dirtying one’s pants, don’t you think?”
My heated cheeks flushed further. It was truly irritating how often the kitsune was right.
Hikaru sighed. “As lovely as it is standing here, holding you, I’m afraid the beast living in my stomach needs fed and we could both use a clean-up. Cooling cum isn’t as pleasant, especially when considering sitting down and eating with it drying there.”
This time I didn’t simply chuckle, I barked out a short burst of laughter. “You are ridiculous.”
“Don’t act like you don’t love the way I am.” Hikaru kissed my temple one last time before he released me. With a wickedly lascivious glance over his shoulder, Hikaru blew me a kiss beforesauntering away, tails seductively swaying with the motion of his hips.
I watched his mesmerizing gait until Hikaru disappeared down the hall and into the bathroom. Palming my face, I heavily leaned against the counter, the blank piece of paper the Warlock Council sent now lying on the floor. I had no memory of dropping it but couldn’t be bothered trying to remember.
“Gaia save me.” Resting my palms on the counter, I hung my head while trying to muster the slightest bit of regret. I’m not sure why. Regret was a foolishly useless emotion and yet I felt the need to harness it and attempt to bring it forth.
I’m not sure if Gaia was truly listening or not, but my phone rang, Erasmus’s ringtone indicating my son was calling. I quickly hit the accept button, relaxing as Erasmus’s voice filtered through the connection.
“Hey, Pops. You doing okay?”
I’m wonderful. It’s amazing what a good orgasm will do for the soul. Those were the first words that came to mind. Thankfully they weren’t the ones that slipped past my tongue. “I am fine, son. How is your honeymoon?”
“Glad to hear it. That’s what I called to tell you. Franklin and I are on our way back from Costa Rica.”
Just like that, tension filled me again. “I thought you were staying longer.” So far, they’d seemed safer out of the country. Danzig’s overheard conversation supported that fact.
“We did stay longer, but we need to get back home. Franklin’s boss can only divert his work for so long. I hate to say it, but murderers don’t seem to care that Franklin’s precinct is down a homicide detective.” Erasmus’s humor was grim but not unexpected. He was, after all, a necromancer who was now married to a human homicide detective. The irony was not lost upon me.
I released a held breath. “I understand, but the danger has not passed.”
There was a contemplative pause on the other end. “I see, so you’re not as fine as you stated.”
I waved a dismissive hand in the air, realizing too late that Erasmus wouldn’t see it. “One does not necessarily equal the other.”
“Yeah, right, Pops. Try that line on someone who doesn’t know you.” Erasmus blew out an exasperated breath. “Franklin needs to get back to work, but I can push some of my clients back a bit. It’s not like the dead are going anywhere.” Erasmus chuckled, once again enjoying his own dark humor. “I can head out to California and?—”
“No!” That singular word came out harsher than I’d meant and yet I had no intention of taking it back. “That would only place you closer to harm’s way.”
“But you need someone watching your back,” Erasmus argued. “How many times have you flown out to Mississippi when I’ve been in trouble? You’ve always been there for me. Is it so difficult to believe that I want to do the same for you?”
I rubbed the growing ache in my chest. “It is perfectly understandable and greatly appreciated. However, I am your father. It is my responsibility to?—”
