“Heard her cursing Lucas out for putting such a huge baby inside of her, so I assume she’s fine. I’m more worried about Lucas.”

Liam finally relaxed and strode over, simultaneously kissing my wet cheek and stealing Storm from my trembling arms.

“They called her Lark.”

Storm watched me shape her name, then gave it a whirl. “Lock.”

“Almost, buddy.” Liam smiled. “Shall we go introduce ourselves?”

I clapped, which made Storm clap, which made Liam roll his eyes.

I pinched his ribs as he curled his arm around my waist. “You know, you’re not too male to clap.”

“I’m entirely too male to clap. Not to mention, I’m an Alpha. Alphas don’t clap.”

“The world would be a better place if they did.”

“If it makes you happy, I’ll clap a certain part of your body later.”

That shot a bolt of heat through the tether.

“Is that a suitable concession, Miss Freemont?”

Officially, I would become Mrs. Kolane next month in a large celebration, which Mom and Adalyn were planning relentlessly. Both were possibly more excited than I was.

Not true.

No one was more excited than I was.

Even though Liam was already mine in all the ways that mattered, next month I’d stake my ownership of the man in front of our fellow Boulders and the heads of six North American packs, four European ones, and two Asian ones.

I wrapped my arm around his waist and squeezed. “It’ll do. Now let’s go.”

“You do realize,” he said, as we walked down the road to the next cabin over, “that Lark’s not going anywhere.”

“I know, but I’mdyingto see who she looks like.”

We reached Sarah and Lucas’s front door at the same time as Ness and August. I guessed they’d heard Lucas howling his joy from his balcony too. Or they’d heard Sarah barking at him.

Ness’s eyes were as shimmery as mine, and her smile just as bright. August, too, exuded delight. Unlike the stoic man at my side, who still deemed displaying too much emotion a sign of weakness.

Ever since Liam had taken me as his mate, I’d been instantly inducted into the tight circle of OBs. Ness and Lucas had even gotten me anOriginal OBT-shirt, which I’d worn so often in the past five months, it was becoming as soft as my silkBoulder Babejacket.

We barged right into Sarah and Lucas’s love nest that was so new the walls were still unadorned and the surfaces bare of the tchotchkes that turned houses into homes. They had their entire lives to fill it with things. Already they were filling it with people.

Lucas met us on the threshold of the master bedroom, grinning so wide his molars were on display. Nestled in his giant arms was this tiny thing with a tuft of black hair, a button nose, and lips as pink as the blanket she’d been swathed in.

“Ready to get your minds blown by what my swimmers can do?”

Ness wrinkled her nose. “You did not just say that.”

“All your doing, huh?” Sarah huffed from somewhere in the bedroom, which made me laugh.

“Come on closer and feast your eyes on the very definition of perfection.” His voice dropped to a reverent whisper as he lifted the infant and nuzzled her pink cheek.

I tipped my head to the side. “Lucas, are you about to cry?”

“The hell’s wrong with you, Knickknack?” He sniffed. “Real males don’t cry.”
