Our families and friends cheer, and I hear Matthew and Emily already discussing the engagement announcement set to go out as soon as possible.

“You’d best get planning, Ms. Hale,” Asher says in his bossy CEO voice as he sets me on my feet. “I expect to be calling you Mrs. Langford by the end of summer.”

God, that CEO voice does things to me. I fight the flush in my cheeks and remind myself that we’re not alone. I lean in and whisper in his ear. “As long as you sometimes call me Ms. Hale in the bedroom to make sure I’m still your good little employee, I’ll do whatever you want.”

Asher makes a growl in the back of his throat and leans down and whispers roughly in my ear. “Keep talking like that, Ms. Hale, and I’ll throw you on that table and fuck you like my good little employee in front of our families.”

I blush.

Then I laugh as I brush away my tears of happiness. Asher lifts my left hand to his mouth and kisses my knuckle above my ring.

“Thank you for loving me,” he says.

“Thank you for choosing me.”

He smirks and shakes his head slightly. “It wasn’t a choice. It was an inevitability.”

New tears spring up as Asher kisses me again and our loved ones circle around us.

“Mine,” he says, brushing his thumb over my bottom lip.

“Yours.”
