The equivalent of a rock lodged itself in my gut.
I didn't want to know what she had said to him about me.
It was bad enough to know that I'd hurt her, but knowing I'd done enough damage that she actually told the man she thought was her mate about it...
Fuck.
"Yeah, the news made our relationship pretty public. Anyway, I've gotta go," Liv said quickly.
"Send me your address," Jonah put in. "I want to meet him."
"That's not necessary."
Like hell it wasn't.
"You've never been to her place before?" Darius asked. "You fucking suck. Liv spends at least half of her time here. It's basically a sports complex."
Liv grumbled, "You know why he lives at the villa."
"The disgust in your voice when you say that is impressive," Dare remarked.
Wasn't the villa the place where the werewolf leaders lived?
And wait... wasn'tJonahthe name of the new Beta werewolf who had taken over sometime in the past year?
Larson must've had the same thought, because he was already on his phone, searching for information about the bastard.
"The villa's great," Jonah said, sounding more amused than annoyed.
"How are you going to get away from Kat's sister long enough to come over here, Jojo? Didn't you swear to be hers or something?"
Liv muttered, "Stop calling him that."
"Yeah, I vowed to protect her. Gwen will come with me. I have something to tell you, anyway. Send the address."
"Fine. Bye." Liv ended the call.
Larson tried to shove me toward the living room, but I didn't take a step yet.
"He's going to bring her with him," Liv hissed at Darius. "I've already done enough damage by accidentally coaching her on how to win his heart back. I don't want to see either of them right now. And he's going to meet Niall, which is justfantastic. What the fuck were you thinking?"
"I was thinking that we need to come up with a way to make that fucker realize he wants you. Introducing him to the sexy shapeshifter who still looks at you like he wants to bend you over the back of the nearest chair at any given moment is a damn good way to make him jealous."
"I told you when we were together how murderous it makes me when you mention finding him attractive," she gritted out.
She was talking aboutme.
Not Jonah.
Darius swung both ways, and she didn't want him checking me out. Never had. She was as possessive as I was.
"Niall's an attractive man, Olivia. It can't be helped."
She groaned. "How is this my life?"
Larson dragged me back to the couch, and I let him, this time.
Between the internet and everything we'd overheard, it wasn't difficult to put together exactly what was going on.
