“Ace? Who the fuck?” Cash asks, then stills and meets my eyes. “Is that the stripper chick you fucked the other night?”
Glaring at my brother, I shove at him and look at the message again.
Ace.
There hasn’t been a second in the past few days that she hasn’t been on my mind. I’m unsettled and kind of pissed. Why did she leave? At least give me the fucking courtesy to say goodbye.
A second later, Xander holds his phone up with a video surveillance playing from the bar. My eyes dart directly to one person on the screen, the one sitting right next to Jordyn.
“What the fuck?” Cash asks as he watches, too. “Who is that?”
Staring at the purple-haired angel perched at the bar, my dick twitches, and so does my palm. She might be an angel, but that means she has to pay for her sins, right? Who better to punish her than her Daddy?
“All in,” I say, pushing all my chips into the already gigantic pot.
Cash folds, and so does Xander, but Beckett’s dumb ass calls. When Xander flips the last card, I grin and turn mine over at the same time as my little brother.
Beckett groans and flops back in his chair. “Fuuuuck. Of course you got four aces, you asshole.”
Smirking, I grab my jacket and rise. “Let’s fucking go.”
My brothers follow me, the pile of poker chips forgotten as we make our way through the casino floor.
I get into the back seat beside Beckett and stare at the messages once more.
Kian: Send me your number.
Do I want to talk to her? I want to spank her. Lecture her. Idefinitelywant to do those things, even if we both agreed we only wanted one night. She gave me that. But I haven’t stopped thinking about her since. I shouldn’t be hurt over it, though I can’t deny that it stung. The connection I felt with her was nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Not until Ace.
My phone vibrates, and I let out a breath when I see that she sent me her number.
Once I’ve saved her contact information, I send one single text to her. Then I look up to see where we are, only to find Xander and Beckett staring at me, while Cash keeps looking at me in the rearview mirror as he navigates through traffic.
“Care to share with the class what the fuck is happening, dipshit?” Beckett asks.
Irritation flares at the base of my neck. “I don’t fucking know, asshole. All I know is that’s her.”
We’re silent for the rest of the drive, and as we make our way through the casino floor. Bells and whistles ring out, but I don’t hear any of it. I want to see her again. And she’d better still be there.
CHAPTER 12
Ace
“Just a heads-up,the guys are on their way here. If you don’t want to see Kian, you might want to leave now,” Quinn says as she looks at her phone.
My stomach drops. “He’s cominghere? How do you know?”
Quinn smiles weakly and looks at Jordyn, then back at me. “Well, it’s like one of those GPS tracker things that people have on their kids’ phones. I just have one on my husband’s that he doesn’t know about.”
What the hell? She tracks her husband without him knowing?
“Don’t worry. He totally tracks me, too,” she adds with a laugh. “We’re a little… obsessed. It’s fine. Anyway, they are heading in this direction, so I assume they checked the surveillance after you texted him from Jordyn’s phone.”
Shit.
I should go.
The last thing I want to do is make him even madder by being in his bar.
