He went from one breast to the other, giving each equal attention as he slid down her body, kissing her belly, licking her belly button, then placing his mouth over her clit and licking her again, waking up her body even more.

He looked up at her. “You okay?”

“Don’t stop.”

He didn’t. He ramped things up, tracing her slit with his finger, spreading her juices over her skin, then sinking his finger deep inside her. “You’re so tight.” He pumped his finger in once, twice, then again before adding a second finger, stretching her. His tongue played with her clit, amping up her arousal and need. He made her feel so much, like her body was filled with sparks bursting, ready to be set free.

He replaced his fingers with his tongue and circled her clit with his wet fingers.

God, that tongue.

He fucked her with it until she was holding his head to her pussy, grinding on his mouth and tongue.

She went off like a rocket and he kept pumping his fingers into her, helping her ride out the orgasm, prolonging it until the ultimate finish.

As she came down, her heart racing, lungs panting out heavy breaths, Hawk kissed her inner thighs from knee to hip, up both sides. “That’s my girl.” He wiped the back of his hand over his mouth and grinned up at her. “Good morning, sweetheart.”

“It is now.” She giggled. When was the last time she did that?

She pressed her hand to her sore shoulder. Breathing heavy set off shockwaves of pain.

He kissed the back of her hand over her wound. “Sorry about that.”

“I’m not. Not even a little bit.”

Worry still clouded his eyes. “Did you sleep well?”

“Next to you…yes.”

“You were talking in your sleep. Dreaming. Do you remember about what?”

She tried to bring it into focus. “Not really.” It seemed fuzzy. Like she remembered dreaming but couldn’t bring it back to mind. “What did I say?”

“You were saying Desiree’s name a lot.”

“Huh. It kind of makes sense. She’s my best friend. We talk all the time. She’s the one I call anytime I need someone to talk to, or I need help with something.”

“Do you trust her?”

She raised a brow. “Most of the time. Why?”

Hawk’s gaze narrowed. “Do you think she had anything to do with what happened to you?”

“Do I think my best friend tried to kill me? No. Why would she do that? We were out having fun. She took me home. She brought me clothes to the hospital. Why would she hurt me?”

“I don’t know. You seemed upset in your dream. Scared. I didn’t like it. And if she upsets you, I want to know why.”

Unsettled, Lucky tried to explain her complicated relationship with Desiree. “We’ve always had a lopsided relationship, mostly because our personalities clash. She wants to be in charge. She wants the focus on her. When it’s not, she gets upset and says things she doesn’t really mean.”

“And you take it because she’s your friend and you don’t want to make things worse.”

She loved that he understood. “Yes. After my family was murdered by someone so close to me, it was hard to trust anyone. Desiree has always been by my side. She’s always been consistently true. I know what to expect from her and there’s comfort in that.” She wanted to lighten things up. “Do you really want to talk about my friend while we’re in bed together? Naked.

“I like where your mind is going, but…stay here. I’ll be right back.” He hopped out of bed wearing just a pair of black boxer briefs, his impressive hard-on pressed against his belly.

“I can help you with that.” She held her hand out to him, hoping he’d come back to bed. She’d gone so long without someone’s touch, now she wanted to explore all the things she’d missed over the past several years. And because it was Hawk, she wanted to show him how much she appreciated and needed him.

Hawk stroked himself once, like he was trying to ease the ache she saw on his face. “Can’t. No time. Just stay right there. I have something for you.” He rushed out of the room.
