I didn’t disagree with his point. We wereallon edge after that dungeon, after using our powers. We used to go weeks or even months without guiding, but after getting it regularly, it was harder to abstain. I knew what I was missing, which made me uneasy with her gone.
The selfish bastard…
He’d grabbed her and disappeared, and sure, he needed guiding more than the rest of us, given that he’d destroyed the heart. Still, I didn’t like it. It felt like getting the short end of the stick, as though I were left out.
Which, as it turned out, I didn’t much like. I always felt on the outside, a healer among killers, someone who didn’t quite fit in.
I was needed, sure, that needed was different from closeness.
So having Yun suddenly gone felt like another door shut in my face, another room I didn’t belong in.
At least this time I knew how to open it.
We just had toget there faster.
The tires of the SUV squealed against the concrete as Carter turned the wheel and all but slid it into a spot that sort of resembled an attempt at parallel parking. In reality, the car was a good three feet from the curb and angled so that no one could easily pass it.
Carter was out of the car a heartbeat later, with Shear and me following. We weren’t nearly as fast, though.
“The car,” I said, gesturing to the horrid job he’d done.
“Let them tow it. It’s stolen anyway.”
That didn’t seem like a great answer, but a sudden rush of corruption that pulled from me had me not giving a damn either. We could easily afford a new car if we needed it, and it seemed we’d borrowed it as it was. I hadn’t known that, I’d just gotten in when Carter had.
The guiding, however, pulled me toward the trailer, already familiar enough that I knew it came from Yun. In some ways, guiding felt the same no matter who did it, but with enough time with a specific guide, I could tell who it was even if I couldn’t see them. This guiding was all Yun, the pull, the ease, the way my cock reacted.
Yep, that was Yun.
Carter opened the door to the trailer, the lock snapping beneath his hand. Then again, if Ingram had traveled here, he wouldn’t have used the front door.
He didn’t usually take anyone with him when he moved through the shadows, but Yun had proven she was different, that the same rules didn’t apply to her. The fact that he could move this far through the shadows went to show his power, though. Most stealth experts, if they could even access those shadows, could only travel a few feet at most.
Of course, Ingram had always been different, had always accepted that void more than most espers. Maybe accepted was the wrong word—it was better to say that he embraced it more, sank into it like he knew he didn’t give a damn about the real world. He preferred the shadows, had a bond with them that allowed him to use them more than others.
Still, to take another person miles through that space?
Even I was impressed.
Then I stepped into the room with the moaning to find Ingram above Yun, between her spread thighs, thrusting into her.
And damn it, that was a pretty sight. Yun had her head thrown backward, with Ingram’s lips moving across her exposed throat. It looked strange, to be fair, a mixture of two people who didn’t seem to fit.
Yun’s skin was flawless, while Ingram had tattoos covering most of his body. They looked like they wouldn’t even meet in real life, like they didn’t belong in the same room, let alone tangled up like that.
Every inch of Ingram’sfuck youattitude, the hard-cut lines of his body, stood in stark contrast to Yun’s sweetness, to the softness of her body.
For a long moment, it drew me to a stop, making me just stare as Ingram fucked her, as he moved with careful thrusts. And Yun? She moaned, holding tight to him, clearly lost to pleasure. So much for worrying that actual sex would have been too much for her, huh? She seemed beyond happy with how things were going at the moment.
Her eyes opened, blinking slowly before she turned her head and took notice of the three of us standing there—sort of like creeps, if I took a moment to evaluate it. She didn’t flinch, though, didn’t retreat. Instead, she took one hand off his shoulder and reached out for us.
That need, the desire written all over her features, made it impossible to feel annoyed about anything, especially with the way she guided us all, with how much lighter I felt moment by moment.
I came forward and caught her hand, leaning in to kiss her. It was strange, since she shifted as Ingram thrust into her, but I didn’t mind that a bit. Yun seemed to focus on everything, which meant she returned the kiss even as moans broke through, allowing me to swallow them.
Her moans tasted sweet, even if I knew logically that wasn’t possible. It was a sound of need, not something to be tasted, but I swear it was made of brown sugar with a sprinkle of cinnamon, and I wanted more of it. I wanted to gorge myself on it, to allow it to fill me entirely. I didn’t want a single speck inside me not filled with something from her.
“You got here faster than I thought,” Ingram said, causing me to break the kiss and toss him a glare.
