“Shut up.” She laughed and pushed me a little. “I’m serious right now.”
“Me too,” I said. “You see my shit?” I nodded toward my groin. “Shit harder than steel seeing yo’ fine ass.”
“Your parents are still out there.”
“And? You think they don’t know you top me off?” My brows dipped.
“They better not!” she shrieked with a wide smile on her pretty ass face. “I hate you!”
“They know who they raised,” I grinned. “For real though can you go fix me something to eat? I didn’t eat yesterday or this morning.”
Her pretty face frowned up again. “They didn’t feed you?”
“They tried, but I wasn’t eating that bullshit,” I shook my head. “Not only was the shit probably nasty as hell, but they’d also clearly contaminated the shit.”
“Wow,” she scoffed. “I hope you reported it.”
“Reported it to who, love?” I chuckled. “The mothafuckas that was contaminatin’ the shit?”
“It’s not funny,” she pouted. “They could have killed you.”
“Nigga gon’ need Pharaoh’s army to fuck with me, on Lord.”
“A man came by here earlier,” she said as she climbed off of my lap.
I frowned, catching her by the wrist. “Who?”
“A guy named Lance,” she answered with a shrug.
“A guy named Lance? That’s all you gon’ tell me? What the fuck was he here for?”
“He said he was Keona’s father,” she replied sadly. “He said he wants her.”
“Wants her?” My frown deepened. “Where the fuck he been at?”
“I don’t know.” She sighed heavily.
“What his ass say? He was on some bullshit?”
“No,” she slowly sat on the bed. “He was actually very nice to me and seemed genuine now that I think about it.” She dropped her head and started to fidget with her fingers. “I was really mean to him, and I feel kind of bad.”
“For what?”
“I just told you he was nice to me, but I was already on ten after leaving ACPD, so he was kind of the victim of my wrath.”
“Whoopty doo.” I sat up and pulled her to me, closing her in my arms. “You reserve the right to be angry, love. Dude could have been nice, but that shit don’t negate the fact that he ain’t been there for Baby Lord from the jump—just like ya sister hasn’t.”
“He said he didn’t know she was pregnant.”
“How he know she had the baby then?”
“Apparently after she saw you, she went to find him and told him.”
“For what? What I got to do with his ass bein’ a father?”
Again she shrugged. “I think she saw you and saw a pay day to be honest, but he didn’t seem interested in you or what we had to offer. He just wanted to see Keona.”
“Well, he not. At least not until we find out who the fuck he is and what he got goin’ on,” I stated then asked, “you called the social worker?”
