Leaning in, I licked the thick droplet of blood from her lip. “Even after all you’ve been through, you can still say you’re happy?”

Her eyes shone, proving that was exactly what her feelings were.

“Are you ready to be spoiled?”

“Mmm, I like the sounds of that Daddy, how exactly do you mean to spoil me?”

“My nosey girl, always wanting to know everything. Do you trust me, Maddox?”

The amusement in her expression died. “Yes.” A single word but one that made my heart sing.

“Then rest in the knowing that your trust isn’t unfounded. You belong to me and I take very good care of my things.”

“So, I’m a thing now? Just property?” Her amused expression was back but didn’t hide the vulnerability she was feeling.

“Yes, a thing…of beauty that has stolen my common sense and my heart in one fell swoop.” I could see she was about to smile. “Don’t, you’ll crack your lip again.” A gentle pull of her lips that tugged to the left was enough to show me exactly how my words affected her.

“I guess I can’t argue with that logic.”

That’s right, naughty girl, no arguing period. You’re already in trouble, but you won’t be paying your comeuppance until you’re fully healed. Until then you will have to settle for being pampered.”

“If I must.” She rolled her eyes, a giggle escaping between her compressed lips.

“Rest. I will go make breakfast and be your servant, feeding you every bite, and sip of your coffee.”

Maddie’s eyes positively glowed. “Thank you, Sir.”

“Don’t thank me.” I stood up. “You are the one who saved me.” I left to make breakfast. When I returned Maddie was fast asleep, the sun lighting her features, giving her an ethereal appearance.

I am one lucky son-of-a-bitch. Things could have gone so much worse had I been a moment later, I would be organizing a funeral right now. I shook my head and vowed to keep my little brat safe, no matter the cost, because now that I’d fallen, there was no one else for me on this earth but her.

Epilogue

Rare ethereal beauty makes it impossible to look away.

Maddie—3 months later

“There you are, naughty girl.”

I gushed and felt the wetness seep into my undies. Langden had crept up behind me. It had been three months since my almost death, and the healing process had been slow. I had suffered from nightmares, and irrational fears set me off.

I’d always had anxiety, but it had grown exponentially since I’d been held at gunpoint. Langden had been incredibly supportive and had provided me with the best therapy money could buy.

My parents fell in love with him over our weekend brunches, and I found myself developing a new appreciation for my folks too. No matter how busy Langden got with his multiplebusinesses, he never cancelled weekend brunch, and he never dropped a call on me.

Somehow the gorgeous Dom had become my entire world. Wanting to play, I answered, “Oh, Daddy, you startled me.” He gripped my ass, sinking his fingers into my punished flesh.

“Did I? What were you thinking about?”

“Mmm, honestly, your big cock.” Langden laughed.

“You can’t want sex again already, can you? Has it happened? Have I finally turned you into a wanton slut?”

I giggled. “Oh yes, daddy, but only for you.”

Langden growled, “that’s right, and don’t you forget it. Come on, let's go, or we’ll be late. I can’t have the future, Mrs. Ross, late for her twenty-first birthday, can I?”

I felt the nervous flutter in my tummy. “I'm…nervous. I don’t need a birthday party. Can’t we just stay here?”
